lol I think you guys are misunderstanding why the Russian is saying "Don't sell old FF lenses." Pentax just doesn't want the used lens market getting flooded with good lenses now that they are raising prices! "Please don't sell old FF lenses! Everyone should buy new DA* lenses!"
Even if they were planning on an FF camera, they still would want you to buy new FF lenses, rather than keeping old ones. And if you sell old ones they would hope you would go and buy new ones right after.

IIRC didn't Nikon introduce the D3 with a load of new zooms? What's stopping Pentax doing the same? They've not introduced a lens for quite some time now, barring the K-01 and Q ones.

Am I right in thinking the DA 35 2.4 was the last lens to be introduced? Surely there has been a lens since then?
If Boz's K-Mount Page is correctly updated (I think it is) the DA 35/2.4 AL was indeed the last lens introduced

[EDIT:] Corrected below (numerous entries). Never mind.

Now that would be an interesting new thread topic for anyone that has the time to invest n it; or is also able to find out the data... A type of lens release chart showing all of the PK lens'.
That would be a good starting information source for a member who had the time . . .

It's the 40mm XS, actually.

On the site that blocks pentaxforums links there is such functionality: camera and lens timelines, from 2003 onwards.

For what it's worth (not very much) I believe there's a FF zoom lens on the roadmap right now, deliberately colored the wrong color.

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/174560-pentax-24-75mm.html

In addition Pentax already has a full frame 60-250 and is introducing a new 12-24 (which might be confirmed as a aps-c, I don't know).

Maybe they would, but I'm having a hard time believing they'd communicate it this way.

A few actually:

- DA 35 f/2.4 was announced on 9 September 2010 together with K-r
- DA 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 was announced on 20 September 2010 together with K-5
- Silver DA 21mm f/3.2 AL, DA 40mm F2.8 and DA 70mm f/2.4 were announced on 7 February 2011 together with K-5 Limited Edition Silver
- DA 40mm f/2.8 XS was announced on 2 February 2012 together with K-01
- DA 40mm f/2.8 XS Silver was announced on 2 March 2012 together with K-5 Silver Special Edition

This without mentioning 645 and Q lenses.

But the latest new K-mount optical formula was that of DA 18-135mm (20 September 2010) and before it the one of DA 15 f/4 (2 March 2009).

Isn't that 12-24 (or somewhere in that range) the DA Limited zoom?

I agree. The 35 2.4AL was based on the FA 35...

Well, I was reading some comments on 1001noisycameras about this rumor, and I saw a comment made by someone purporting to be the originator of the rumor. Let's just say there's some very interesting additional details, if true:
QuoteQuote:
I spoke with PR Manager of Pentax Russia at Photoforum Exhibition. Nobody promised nothing concrete... All I know that Ricoh had return all redundant Pentax engineers back and have great plans about company. That's with no doubts, good and real news =) Also they said that new MF camera will be cheaper than existing 645D! That can be real bomb =) And after I completely focked his brain, he said me that Pentax already got new FF sensor from Sony. Think it will be 24Mp.
But again - I think it can be great marketing turn to force people to buy Pentax lenses at fresh prices =) NOBODY told NOTHING specified! Just "Don't sell your system and buy more lens"
Regards
Dmitry
P.S. Sorry for my english
Cheaper 645D Mk II? Already purchased FF sensor from Sony? Better not be trolling us...

Hmmm I'm sceptical. Has an air of 'too good to be true' about it...

Well, considering that Nikon have just released a 24 mp APSC camera (using the Sony sensor I presume?), this mat be the K5 replacement not the FF.

I just read all his posts on that forum. Doesn't seem like a very well informed guy. I found out that he's 45 lol. Like that means anything

He also said;
QuoteQuote:
Just returned from PhotoForum Moscow 2012. Pentax will have 4 new cameras this year. K-5 successor, K-30 - bridge camera, FF camera with Sony sensor and cheaper version of 645D. It was unofficial as a rumor =) But.. I believe in it =)
Seems to think the k-5 successor will be called k-30? Odd

Edit:
Maybe I read that wrong... Either way I don't get it. By bridge does he mean camera between k-r and k-5?
