I'd rather ask you a question: how many people do you think would be willing to pay $$$$ or even $$$$$ but either:
a. not having a viewfinder at all (like the K-01) or
b. having exactly the same EVF as APS-C MILCs?
The benefit being a thinner body and having to use cumbersome, $$$ adapters (possibly with loss of functionality) if you have a K-mount lens or two.
For Pentax, the benefits would be:
a. killing the K-mount
b. (thus) losing almost all its (K-mount) customers, and our trust
c. having to develop a new lens line from the scratch and for few years not having an even nearly complete system (i.e. not being able to compete)
d. being at a disadvantage if e.g. Sony would decide to launch their own MILC FF (they could to it, if it were feasible), since the K-mount advantage is lost
Oh, wait. That would benefit the competition, actually
