New Q/K lenses to be unveiled next week?

Or if you guys had been paying attention to the actual invitation (and saw my post in this thread several days ago), you would know that there was never any mention of any new lenses at all. And the Q lenses Adam mentioned (04 and 05) have been on sale for months already.

Move along people, there's nothing to see here.

Well, if you had been paying attention, you would realize that 90% of the talk hasn't been about Q lenses but the Limited looking prototype. It is still a mystery. Others may, but I couldn't care less about Q lenses. This prototype I find very interesting.

I was referring to the 5 posts directly above mine (which happens to include one of yours) wondering where the "announcement" is. There never was going to be any announcement.

As for the mention of Q lenses, please refer back to the original post by Adam.

Went down yesterday to try lenses out. There was nothing on the list that we didn't already know about. I did get to try out the DA 40 XS though. I will say the quality isn't much different than the DA 40 Limited, which I also borrowed to test the two against each other. But the lack of a real focus ring and stuff, kind sucked. I had way more fun using the Limited. I'm going back today so maybe I'll ask what is coming up down the line.

Just spent some time looking at the K-mount lens roadmap and I may just be thinking out loud but what if that is new 50 mil?

Front element curvature looks way too much for it to be a 50mm.

I'm repeating myself but I think the curvature, combined with the lessening of retrofocus, might make this a 15.

I'd say it looks way too flat for a 50mm. I'd say the standout feature of the 1.4 and 1.7 50mm lenses is their massively curved front element. But I agree, I think this will be a new super wide-angle, hopefully not just a copy of the 15 though, it doesn't really need minimising any further.

Plus the 50mm f/1.8 was shown at whatever that photo show was, it's not this lens. This doesn't appear to be on the roadmap...

Well.... if you took the mirror out maybe. But then that would make metering, using the viewfinder and focussing rather difficult

But the lack of a real focus ring and stuff, kind sucked. I had way more fun using the Limited. I'm going back today so maybe I'll ask what is coming up down the line.
