From the pictures, it is definitely a K-r replacement. The size and button count are quite similar (including those on the back)

Mixed views on swivel LCD's some like them some don't care. Top LCD well not unexpected in this price range.

This is going to be one heck of a WR entry-level camera once announced.
More of a K200D replacement than a K-r successor.

Has there been any definitive word yet on whether it has a pentaprism or pentamirror viewfinder? It looks bulky enough in the hump to possibly have a prism.

All in all, it's looking damn good to me. Much better than I expected for a K-r replacement. I could do without the fins on the sides, but I don't care that much about little aesthetic details. Looks like a good, rugged addition to the lineup, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if its real world performance is very comparable to the K-5.

No auto-scene modes on the dial? This seems much more like a mid-range SLR to me...

The speculation that the K-01 (or possibly a newer, less advanced dSLR) is the entry level part of Pentax's lineup seems more and more likely.
