Ha, yes that's the origin of the term "fan" but it's a different word now, with different connotations. And I like cheerleaders too, just don't think this is the place for them.
Good, this whole argument was getting a little too serious. Was trying to bring some levity to the table to lighten it up a bit. Glad you took it as such. Seems like everyone has Pentax's best interest in mind and just seeing the situation differently.

I just chatted with "Yossi" at B&H and he confirms that the B&H kits are all WR. His words:

"yes, the 18-55mm kit lenses are all the WR version, I am sorry the stock photos we have do not state WR on the lens, once we receive an updated image from Pentax we will change it"

This is a really nice offer from B&H!
I agree. B&H will definitely get my business because of this.

I would love to see it from different angles with the 40mm.
Sweet mother of god that looks good.

Sounds like it was his own fault, leaving his gun on the ground.

well, I made my point and it still stands. I can assure you it will be brought up again by someone other than me.

I guess I don't see it as a new point though. Other camera makers have sold cameras as "sealed" without sealed lenses attached (read: Canon 7D, Nikon D7000) and up until the K7, Pentax sold sealed bodies without any affordable sealed lenses available (the only ones available were the DA * zooms and primes at that point). That didn't stop the K10, K200, and K20 from being big sellers for Pentax and I don't recall any rash of people going swimming with their unsealed kit lens and then complaining that their camera died.

People aren't stupid. Even with a sealed kit lens, you still have to take some precautions.;

I did of course mean no need to meet the old models (ei D3000) selling at 399, but have something to compete with current gen models (ie d3100 and later D3200 which hasn't dropped yet), as time passes maybe they can consider having a run at the old model market.

I left sales 6 years back so your safe from me overselling you

it's the marketing approach that's different. none of those other cameras you mentioned were so actively marketed being submersed in water or dribbling with rain. remember, the K30 is aimed at a different market segment, mostly not familiar with WR (which is what makes the K30 so special).
