This must be changing by the minute, B&H is offering this kit for $1,049.95:

Pentax
K30 Digital Camera with 18-55mm and 50-200mm Lens Kit

18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR Zoom Lens
50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED WR Zoom Lens
16.3Mp APS-C CMOS Image Sensor
Full 1080p30 HD Video h.264 Compression
PRIME M Processing Optimized for Video
Large Wide Angle Viewable 3.0" LCD
77 Segment Metering System
Continuous 6 FPS Shooting
ISO Expandable to 25600
Uses Rechargeable Li-Ion or AA batteries

B&H # PEK302LKB
Mfr # 15646

New Item, Available for pre-order

The kit with the 18-135 is selling for $1,199.95, those are pretty good buys if you want those lenses.
I'd be wary Ramsey. The lenses in the pic are definitely the DA-Ls, just like the 18-55mm DA-L kit that still has an incorrect listing as a DA WR kit.

Somewhere during the launch, B&H got mixed up. Hopefully it'll all be crystal clear to all the salespeople by the time they have it in stock (though Pentax knowledge at retail has a pretty poor track record)

65 pages is a lot to digest, so I'll skip it and just be one of those guys that offers his opinion without understanding the full context of the conversation:

I think the K-30 looks like a great deal. When I bought my K-7 it was a toss up between that and the ol' K200D. I wanted weather sealing and was disappointed that the K-x didn't have it (which I considered the K200D's successor of sorts); ultimately I went with the newer K-7 over the K200D. If I were new to photography now choosing between the K-5 and the K-30... well, that would be a much more difficult choice!

I like the design too - it seems to have absorbed a lot of the styling of the K-5/K-7, with a touch of circa 2003 Alienware computer case, lol.

It is deceptive though. The thing has a machined aluminum frame.

I wouldn't mind an articulated screen on the new flagship (whenever that is) ... good in some situations such as those:

Seriously though, although I can live without one such screen, it is no doubt a great little "gadget".

Pentax Digital Camera Utility 4.0

Yes 4.33 is better than 3.0! In fact, it is usable whereas 3.x seemed to be terrible. I have actually been using 4.x version since very early 2009 with my K200d and K20d which I had got in 2008.

there might be some confusion here, there are two different software , supplied with:
KX,KR,K7 ,K5 PENTAX Digital Camera Utility 4 (4.35) with SILKYPIX Image Processing Engine
Q SILKYPIX Developer Studio 3.0 for PENTAX (3.0.0.3)

Not at all! I gave Gazonk a like for his comment. I think the K-30 is a good looking design, apart from the AF assist light.

Funny how some people manage to read negativity where none existed...

Should I get the K-30 or K-5 for my K100D upgrade ? I think the K-5 will be a better choice or not ? Don't need movie mode.
