Seems like something out of a Transformer movie... Not that I mind, I actually find the design quite refreshing!

Actually, the K5 replacement has to blow our socks off, because otherwise, there would not be much distinction from the K30!

I hope they improved it a lot. It would be nice to finally have smaller focus points with good AF-C.

Yea, I'm pretty sure they meant the next *flagship* camera from Pentax...

The lack of a top screen is a shame, but congratulations to Pentax for producing the first entry-level/mid-level DSLR that I would consider replacing my K200D with.

This is sounding more and more like a repackaged and re-engineered K5. Notice that there are 2 buttons behind the shutter release? One looks like a green button, and the other looks like the exposure compensation. I wonder if the there is an ISO button on the back? Just have to wait for some images of the back of the camera.

Looks fun and funky with those futuristic styling touches. Good to see Pentax are trying to differentiate themselves a little from Canonikon's more sober and standard approach in the mid range. I wonder whether they'll keep this approach for their higher-end model or revert to something more conventional. Certainly looks as if the K30 is going to be a lot of camera for the money.

My thoughts exactly. They should remove the built in flash and put a GPS unit there instead. And people worried about battery life, just don't use it. But back on topic, it's great to finally see a new DSLR. Too bad it's not a replacement for the K-5.

Also, this looks like a K-5 to me, but cheaper...

Honestly, that looks fantastic. And with Pentax WR it doesn't just look the part.

It looks even more like a toy than the K-x. An all too common theme with Pentax in recent years.

This looks like it was designed by Michael Bey. First the Q, then the "extreme" weatherproof compacts, the K-01, now this.

Way to be taken seriously Pentax. Ugh, what are you doing?

I fear they've bowed out. I think they're turning Pentax into a "fun", lifestyle photo brand alternative, while leaving the 'serious' and innovative stuff to Ricoh.

IMO this looks just like any other DSLR. Clean but with a unique touch here and there.

Weather-sealed and two E-dials for entry-level DSLR?! That can not be other brand but Pentax! It recalls the good days of acquiring my K200D and comparing it to plastic toys of same level.
