Few points:
1. They better keep the same battery form factor as it is for K-5/K-01
2. If this indeed will be the mid/entry level camera then the one above it will have to be far stronger than K-5. May be it is a hint of imminent FF camera...
3. I certainly get to keep my K-5en :-).

This is an awesome bit of news. I am so glad that Ricoh hasn't screwed Pentax up so far. Also, since this camera is the K30, I think it's safe to say that the K-5 replacement will be called K3.

What I really wonder is how all this camera information is coming to us. No official announcement yet. Not much viral marketing the way it has been done during the last years. Just a blunt ad in a retailer's magazine with almost full details and a picture. If it was just this one French retailer, I could believe they f*d up but it's listed at Amazon at the same time. So I think one plausible explanation is that some Pentax employee messed up with the curfew date in some retailer info material. And this somebody will probably get his/her ass kicked.

Amazon link is dud when we try to proceed further. However SRS microsystems shows heavy discount on K-5 packages, that could be indicative of new entry in Pentax line-up soon.

In the french advt. "4" could be mentioned for image or scene modes and not for FPS as many are believing here. So FPS could be 6 as some are stating.

A37 just came out? That's $600 camera with the kit, $400 cheaper thann K30. A65 is is in the same price range as K30. Even A57 is cheaper

A37... and yeah, since it's probably targeted vs. the 1100/1200D and D3200. Pentax's K-30 is... prolly against the A57, 600D and D5100.

Simon, I think it's aiming at the outdoorsy advanture type, it looks quite at home in a Kathmandu shop lol

Nope. The French catalogue says "MODE RAFALE 4 images/seconde" which means "BURST MODE 4fps".

But the 4 could be a mistake made by Boulanger nonetheless.

Toyota have already demonstrated LCD bodywork for a car. There's no reason in principle why you couldn't do it for a camera - other than price.

I think it looks like it's been punched in the face and that material with the pinpricks in it looks like it's from a 1985 Ford Sierra.

Seems Amazon UK have now removed it from the site. Sounds like news has got to Pentax/RIcoh and they are not happy!
