I wonder if it will be able to use the higher speeds of UHS-1 cards, something the K5 can't do. It would sure make things go faster if it could clear its buffer faster. Also, I have to wonder if it will have the same bit depth as the K5.
The K30 burst is predicted to be 4 FPS and the K-01 is at 6 FPS with 12 bit. This will be an interesting specification to see.

Certain Forum mods have suggested/implied/speculated/hinted that the 4 fps spec is incorrect/misleading/unsubstantiated/mis-typed/whatever. The correct number, according to a usually-reliable source is 6 fps.

I know full well that this is all fuzzy, Blue, and I'm watching it as well. "Retro" is all in fashion but four frames per second is a bit too retro for me, too ....

Oh, ok then, point rescinded, I only saw the initial fuzzy cap, and couldn't make out the blue 'WR' well, although the UK Amazon caps make no mention of the WR lens.

If it hits the US at $800, with the WR lens, then it's a decent deal.

Yes that scanned WR bundle is for France only thus far, where it is illegal to say something is "tropicalized" but require another purchase. The listed UK bundles were clearly not WR.

I certainly hope they won't use AVCHD with 28 Mbit/s limit.... why would you want that even?

Maybe, but the K-r is allready faster with 6fps. This is a midlevel camera, positioned between K-5 and K-r, right?
So why make it even slower then the K-7?

Bear in mind that the K-r had to pump out "only" 12x6 = 72MP per second, whereas the K-30 supposedly pumps out 16x4 = 64MP per second. Still not the same bandwidth, but much closer.

Anyway, I think this is mostly a minor issue when you consider the target audience of the K-30.

It looks really good when sprayed by water. They should use this pic for marketing, they should get a similar for K-5.
