SAFOX again? Wonder if Pentax is aware that that term has negative marketing value.

Negative marketing value? I can bet that more than 90% of Pentax users even don't know how Pentax AF system is called.
Name SAFOX has negative value mey be in eyes of some persons who sit in forums 24h/day and 7days/week, not for normal people.

Yeah, I would have rather seen a K-7/K-5/K-01 battery because that would last longer, but not deal killer. I use a ton of eneloop AAs for flash, so along with that accessory I won't have to buy multiples for the K-30.

Hopefully they made the camera very efficient so it gets decent run time (with video, live-view, and stills)

Given the FPS, I'm assuming the shutter/mirror is very close to the K-r, so I'll miss the quietness of the K-5 and K-7.

This is destined to replace my K-7 and I think it will be worth the upgrade. Looks like the K-5 will stay king for a while.

so after reading about focus peaking in here i looked up a video and... that is very cool Needs an EVF / hybrid view finder so you can peak in the view finder now just live view imo.

They better offer kits with WR lens since it seems to come with DA L lenses by default..

From what we've seen on the front, I'm sure the back would look very nice, better than K-r that's for sure

rear button layout is more like a k5 than a kx anyway.... in terms of wheel and af button anyway.

Rice High has just posted the K-30's specs, which were leaked via this Turkish Pentax forum entry. ...

[Update: Okay, I did a search on this thread and the other K-30 thread for "Rice" and "Turk" and found nothing, so I posted the above links. I guess some of the more detailed the specs were already posted here though. Oh well. Even when I'm careful I still miss something.]

Ha apologies. Wasn't trying to trying to kill any enthusiasm, was just genuinely bummed to see more roman numerals after that much maligned name. Who knows, maybe IVI is the charm and it's finally awesome, though if much was changed, marketing-wise, it would've behooved them to rebrand the system.
