Just popped up in the Pentax Imaging press page;
-> K30 : PENTAX - PENTAX Introduces New K-30 Digital SLR Camera
-> Da50/1.8: PENTAX - PENTAX Introduces smc DA 50mm f/1.8 Medium-Telephoto Lens

So no FF yet...

This has probably been brought up before, but anything in the spec/info we have so far to suggest the ability to use a battery grip?

I will replace one of the white Kx's with one of these...

Weather resistant design ideal for travel and outdoor photography
Featuring 81 seals set in its compact, lightweight, portable body, the K-30 is built to be weather, dust and cold resistant with proven functionality in sub-freezing temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C). Its exterior has been designed to be both sporty and functional for active outdoor photographers – a large grip provides a firm, secure hold of the camera; a low-profile pentaprism housing for reduced height; and a rounded, soft-rubber casing for a solid grip of the camera during vertical shooting.

Sweet

I cant help thinking coloured cameras just look cheap. its bad enough they are made of plastic these days. Being coloured is
a bit like rubbing salt in the wound
Sometimes I do feel that way about the k-x I have, but I don't mind - it's not "professional", but as someone above said, it's properly a "boy's toy".

Ooooo..

."The K-30 also accepts interchangeable PENTAX Natural-Bright-Matte III focusing screens to facilitate manual focusing operation."

Interesting.

Finally. They market the WR feature properly. No more WG-2 nightmares.

um yeah. they better be putting massive warnings on the DA-L kits if this is the marketing they are putting everywhere. in the DPR K30 announcement/preview, you're supposed to tell the DA-L kit version isn't weather sealed because it's the only one pictured dry.

You might be right, but I think that industry will be moving too fast to allow that to happen. I think the successor to the K-01 will still be a MILC. I think that the market for really cheap dSLR's will be eclipsed by MILC's.
MILC is an entirely separate line of cameras - dSLR has a mirror (K-300); MILC doen't (K-0x).

Now, if I were designing a K200D replacement, I personally would have given it a larger pentaprism viewfinder and not bothered with the second dial. Not that I'd turn down a second dial if it were offered, but given the choice, I'll pick a better viewfinder without hesitation. One lets you take better better pictures, the just occasionally helps you shoot a little faster.
Holy crap, it has both (larger pentaprism viewfinder *and* second dial). Did not see that coming!

I hope the weather sealing will help it be more like the K200D and less like the K-r in terms of shutter/mirror sound.

What an amazingly well-positioned camera - beats the k200D at its own game, still unlike anything anyone else has ever offered.
