Sure but without proposer support and until Pentax has an acceptable market share, people would rather go to Canikon.
Pentax has no choice, they HAVE to support older lenses...
I doubt that would be the case, they use the backwards compatability as a selling point. Add in many peoples first introduction to using a high quality lens will be an old manual focus prime. Sooner or later this leads to a lust for modern alternatives that allow more ease of use and sales of the new primes. It's like a gateway drug

Older K-mount lenses. Pentax hasn't manufactured a screw mount lens since 1975.

I could totally see that. I'm too cheap to buy an expensive new lens now, but years from now when my kids are all out of the house and money is (hopefully) not as tight I might be singing a different tune. Especially if I have exhausted the list of old primes I want to buy.

just came in mail

so my adapter came in teh mail from pentax.com today

has a message stating "pentax hya is now pentax ricoh" so it's at least relatively new.

exceptionally good quality, glad i didn't buy off-brand.

the green bag is actually a zip bag and can be used to store it in.

Adapter availablity

I purchased my adapter from B&H, I think, several years ago, see photo. It was made in Japan at that time and cost me $32.50 not including tax. The cost in the Pentax link given by Noah costs $21.95, so the price went down. Whoopee for you new buyers!

The current price on B&H is $24.95. I bought one from them late last year when they were in stock briefly. With super saver shipping total is about $1-2 less than from Pentax. The one I have is also made in the Phillipines.

Since about 3 months ago, the price for used ones on European eBay is getting very near to this.

Did they seriously stop making it? I'm not buying that. A price increase on it was announced late last year.
