I have the new toy..Firmware version 0.39

The quietest camera I have ever experienced. Noise levels are ridiculously low and the AF is very very fast...Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....

Well, 0.39 could be the last pre-1.0 firmware (same as 1.0 to be)... They will only call it 1.0 when it's really for sale. Don't expect the next generation cameras to be in the store immediately after the lifting of the embargo? Soon perhaps, but not immediate... Pentax has kept things amazingly quiet to avoid the long time between first announcements the final availability they had with the K10D. I expect they will follow a schedule similar to the other brands now... Sth like a month or two at most?

Sounds pretty good...are both toys up to the same high iso performance, stealth shutter or just the bigger toy?. Rumour has it a firmware is supposed to be released for the K10 after the launch, hoping it may improve the K10 iso performance if the k200 is supposed to have the same sensor.

High ISO is Canon territory and I think it is written somewhere in the 10 commandements that : "Thou shall not claim to have better noise characteristics than Canon" ... or so I remember...
