Derivant of the ElJacqomito Principle, in which every thread eventually turns into a FF thread.

The monochrome constant (AKA the Singularity) is "Every thread STARTS with a FF post."

Then there's the Leica Diversion, in which every discussion of stripped-down basic digicams generates, "Well, look at Leica!" as if Leica's business model was applicable to major camera makers.

Leica's business model isn't applicable to almost any manufacturer. Being owned by an uber wealthy rich fan boy isn't an option for most

LOL, LOL LOL.

I for one am so tired of hearing about the FF cr@p. If you want a FF, buy Nikon, Canon or ? who cares. When you bought into Pentax you know what you were getting into. If Pentax decides in the future to go to FF, then fine, but this relentless FF or I'm jumping ship, just cracks me up !

that I am in complete agreement with, though i still want one (and can't afford the 645D alternative and like my Pentax gear too much to go to another brand)

I can wait, I've never had a shot i couldn't achieve with one of my cameras thank god for film

Well, for me, there has never been a shot that I was completely 100% satisfied with, even with 645d or Leica M8. It really has not happened yet, and I doubt that it ever will. I do photography in search of that one shot.

So I envy you, and I really don't mean that in my usual smart ass way at all.

Well, back on topic...

I've noticed that the Facebook page has updated the teaser image with the word "Recuerda", which a look in a Spanish dictionary says "remember".

Remember what? This calls for more wild speculation!

Unless they just mean remember "June 1st", which would be dumb, since it's only been a week since the teaser was put up.

I just checked the Pentax Spain website PENTAX ESPA and while I don't speak a word of Spanish, I noticed something that makes me think of a 3 year warranty extension of the camera bodies and 5 years of lenses. Any Spanish speakers here - is that true? And is that new in Spain? The lens pdf says something about June 1st 2011, but is that a typo?

http://www.pentax.es/productos/pdf/Objetivos_PRO_Lista.pdf

EDIT: That pdf lists 67, 645, Limited and DA* lenses

Must register in our site PENTAX ESPA
Five year extension for lenses sold starting June 1st 2011 (? Translator question mark, that's me)
The big "rubber stamp" says "5 years warranty PRO"
>>>
The linked page has no mention of cameras, just lenses

It seems like they are extending warranty to five years for the high end lenses, retroactive one year from tomorrow.

Will Spain still exist on 1 June? Or will Germany foreclose?

Really, Spain seems a less-than-obvious place for an announcement of global impact. Although Grenada, the Alhambra, other stunning locales, might be impressive backdrops for a major blitz. Or maybe Pamplona, to highlight an extra-rugged camera: See, it can be stampeded by bulls and still survive!
The June 1st announcement is about the new B.S. resistant line of lenses. The new lenses will feature a small blue BSR designation on the front of the lens instead of the small blue WR marking. This will give enough time for folks attending the running of the bulls in Pamplona next month to snap them up.
