New Pentax Photo Samples Next Week

I contacted Adam at Pentax Forums to inform him that when the embargo is lifted that I will post images taken on the new Pentax product....'s.

I also informed him about a potential server crash as a result of potential traffic and my frustration with a 1 mega jpeg limit that must be compressed at 5-6 out of 12 in Photo Shop.

None the less, I will post sample images when the embargo is lifted.

Stay Tuned.

Ben

Maybe its better to put them on flicr or similar and link it here? both for the server load and image quality. small size samples compressed with 5-6 isnt going to be that much of a benchmark

Why not resize images and also provide 100% crops in selected areas? For us pixel peepers...

I agree with And's suggestion Ben.

I've got unlimited storage, max. file size 24MB, and 1,000 terabytes of transfer/month, so I link to images in a private gallery from my website. Then I can avoid the attachment issue, and only use attachments if absolutely necessary.

Cheers,
Marc

Maybe it's time to use bittorrent for something legal? A peer to peer network would be perfect for something like this.

Photograph the same scene with the K10D and with the K20D, same settings, same everything.
Otherwise one has no comparison.
Provide the images unchanged.
That would be interesting.

And please ask if the DA200 really has a ring motor!

I'm looking forward to seeing them Ben,
If I think of it I'll avoid this forum for a few days, to help with the flow.

Besides I'll be playing with my own new toy then.
I just wish that it was as nice as yours will be.

I won't have the time to do a comparison between the K10D and K..D. I am in Post Production on a job with avery tight deadline, therefore it will be "Snap Shots" only..

Ben, if you want, I can set up bittorrent tracker with the full-sized images, if you send those to me. (Via e-mail, I guess -- click for my e-mail address -- only one 5-6mb attachment per message though or my mailbox will overflow.) Then, I'll post the torrent link here and everyone can get them easily. (Or if someone else wants to do the same that'd be cool -- not angling for anything special, just looking to help.)

Just make sure the first photo shows the tools you use, OK?

Uploading a zip on rapidshare would be easy, legal and effective.

Agreed about the comment regarding uploading photos to Flickr. That way, a lot of people can access the photos without straining the load capacity of this site.

Thanks for whatever photos you can share, Ben. Those would be much appreciated.

Bittorrent is perfectly legal and has a lot of legitimate use -- Linux distros use it for CD/DVD downloads, for example.
