It will only happen in Japan.
Bloggers will just "Ooo... Ahh...." at the new stuff and old ones and be polite.

Hahah I think that's true. That is what probably happens most of the time, but what I'm thinking is that if this is also done outside Japan, at least there's a constant stream of talk about Pentax products somewhere, some time. While it may not generate so much in terms of direct sales it may generate interest which may lead to sales. I don't know how effective it can be, but working for the PR industry has led me to see that blogger influence can also be quite useful in an environment where the target market is usually browsing online...

Singapore seems to be doing quite well with this, but its not official Pentax.

At the end, what I really mean is good relationships with distros and Pentax.
Not an antagonistic (problem looking) stance.
