You really need to check that math again. Neither screen is anywhere near close to that density. remember that the 3" high-rez screens are only 640 pixels across (1920 sub-pixels) No way you can get those pixel densities you quote with those real-world specs.

The 320x240 230k screens have half as many pixels in each linear direction. If the K20D has the leaked rear display it's going to have a pixel density under 160ppi or 480 sub pixels per inch, or slightly more than half the 3" 922k display (Half the linear resolution at a smaller display size gives a higher pixel density).
Feel free to check my math but I calculated the surface area and dived that by the number of total pixels (922,000 on the A700/D300 and the 630,000 on the K20D)

So per square inch I have those numbers

The K10D already does that (Better AF, although more in the more powerful AF motor than anything else and a larger buffer). I don't expect a huge AF improvement in the K200D, more likely better algorithms with the same sensor and motor. I am expecting a 6 or so RAW buffer in the K200D (the K100D's biggest weakness was the small buffer, especially when the D40 offered 9 RAWs and the A100 6-9 RAWs depending on the card used).

Expect the K20D to have a much larger buffer and noticeably better AF than the K100D.
My first plan was actually to sell the K100D and replace it with K10D, but then I got caught up in all the hype about the new model

I should have said that it seems to me that a bigger screen is not the most important improvement ; a more usefull/trustworthy screen would be - whatever his size.

Maybe this would happen by increasing the resolution (not the same as the size, even if they often come together), maybe not ; in fact I think the idea of having the screen view in the viewfinder seems to be a better idea than a shiny, yet still silly 640x480 screen. I hope pentax will surprise me with new concepts for using the LCD screen and visualising images and informations.

( And I do really believe everyone of you, when you all say that the nikon 3" screen is great That's just that I think those LCD screens are just plain silly )

It could be rumor's specs. Not confirmed.
Modus said about sensor size.
He stated:
This is incorrect as I've seen both models in person. The sensor for the K20D is false, but I can't reveal my sources, though. I can, however, say that both models will impress and put Canon and Nikon on notice that Pentax is making a strong comeback in the DSLR market.

Although I did notice he's a "one-time" poster like myself, he truly could be an insider or just throwing a smokescreen As for myself I am just a hobbyist who has Pentax Film, Nikon Film, and Nikon Digital Body and become more and more interested in Pentax's line-up. I hope their innovations will make them a strong player in years to come.

My wish would the camera to have good auto focus capability, if possible beat the Big Two companies AF capabilities -- those companies boast Frames per second, I wonder about the frames of "Accurate" photos per second. As with most people who hang out in these forums are very interested in what is being announced. I wonder if they will have a surprise announcement and return development of the K-1 (new and improved??) 日本カメラ博物館の「ペンタックス展」に幻のフルサイズデジタル一眼が出品 Or 645 ?

Since I am in USA (California) I will know by January 23rd in the late evening after I leave work, while the other side of the world in Japan will have announced (Jan 24)- it's very soon.... and I am very excited....I do hope it is not anti-climatic

Kudos to the NDA people

I didn't think the "blackout" would last near this long.
A few cracks are forming (why not at this point).

OPP's , Server/page lag is getting to me...................................

No idea where you're getting 630k pixels from a 230k screen (if the leak is correct, the K20D screen is 230k sub-pixels, not 630k) otherwise you just broke NDA. So your math looks correct per SQUARE inch, but pixel density is calculated per linear inch, so you're incorrect.

Just an educated guess on my part because I know the screen is much nicer than a 230K including sub pixel screen.

If it's better than a 230k (320x240) screen it's most likely going to be some variant of a 640x480 screen (922k). Unless of course it's in some other aspect ratio.

I'm hoping for a 2.7" 922k OLED screen.
