If these specs are correct, and taking into account the way the original DPreview poster uncovered them, then who does Benjikan sue?

15.1 MP is pretty high for usual CMOS crop sensor.
Maximum shutter 1/4000. Only 3 fps.
And can we trust this source?
Where is the BOMB? They are winner in MP race with APS-C?

Not for anything but considering the rumor-mill, there's no way 2.8 FPS would be "it".

Smells like bacon to me.

deal breaker

if they can't put in the same quality LCD as a D300, i'd never get one. 230k and 2.7 inches? that's just too ordinary for words... unless there's something else, this is a major bummer.

I could care less about the extra res... like 10M was ever 'not enough'.

I wouldn't doubt one bit that once the real specs is out, the bashing and whining would start. It seems like everyone has his/her own pet peeves, and everything has to match D300 no less.

40D has the same resolution screen, at a larger 3" size which would make it even worse. We want K20D to match D300, with every feature making a quatum leap from K10D, and yet we want to pay much less than D300 and not much more than K10D

Umm, the D300 only has an effective 320,000 pixels on a 3.0" screen.

Oh and the D300 doesn't do what this screen will do

Not long to go before we found out what the killer features are pertaining to the sensor technology. Not too far off the Samsung camera....15.10 vs 14.6 and 3200 vs 6400, hmmm different sensors or just a bit of pushing on the Pentax side?

It's the same sensor. As stated in the other thread (shouldn't the threads be merged?), 15.1 is the total pixels, 14.6 is the effective pixels.

But he may not be aware of the total vs effective pixel difference. If he has seen the camera, he may only know about the 4672x3120 resolution and thinking that 15.1 would be wrong.

It could be rumor's specs. Not confirmed.
Modus said about sensor size.

it's funny isn't it?

everyone who posted "real" info on this forum about this have been subject to discussions on their credibility and knowledge. And now you are relying on a single guy who joined that forum yesterday... you reject and validate information based on your wishful thinking. Is "modus" some kind of "neo" of the pentax world? is he the one?

wake me up on the 24th please.

This has been discussed. If measured in the same way as the K10D having 210,000, the D300 has 920,000. Not just a little bit better. The Nikon is more expensive at $1800, but it has the Nikon name which is a large portion of that price. Take away the purchase power the Nikon name has that Pentax doesn't, then you can argue that we simply can't have a 3" 920,000 pixel LCD in the K20D because the K20D doesn't cost as much as the Nikon.

These screens were last year's technology. The K20D having "better" live view than the D300 is great, and is the type of innovation that gets people to Pentax instead of Nikon - as long as Samsung gives them a comparable performance LCD which they could have if so desired.

As Samsung is a leader in LCD's, you'd think this was a no-brainer to aquire approx 900,000 pixels (unless the screen is only 2.7" instead of 3" - then maybe 800,000) for the K20D.

Almost OFFICIAL
Samsungs neuer Bildsensor: CMOS, APS-C, 14 MP | photoscala

Highspeed and performance - powered by Samsung“: Apart from extremely small energy consumption is characterised the new sensor from Samsung development lab by extreme speed and a high sensitivity clearance.
Also in things intoxication poverty sets the image converter new yardsticks - and even with the highest sensitivity of ISO the 1600.
