I think pamphlet is the most common word for something like this here in the US, although "brochure" would also be frequently used. Booklet implies something a little more substantial (more pages) and could be bound. A brochure is probably glossy and full of marketing pictures and bright, chipper ad copy -- I think most likely trying to sell a destination of some sort (theme park, vacation area, or maybe a religion). A pamphlet could be anything.
It's interesting to learn the negative connotation in other languages. Here, really, both brochure and pamphlet have the implication, at least to me, of useless marketing junk.
