From my reading of the german press release, I don't see a definitive statement saying that it's only 20fps at 1.6MP. Only that the buffer can accommodate 115 images at 1.6M jpeg.

Perhaps you can do high fps at larger resolutions, but only for a shorter sequence.

If that's correct - and I *really* hope it is, then the k20d has most of what I was looking for in an upgrade from the k10d.....which means I'll likely buy one....which means my wife will get another ring......(I've got to alter that arrangement! )

As I did read in the pdf's of Pentax then it sounds that the K20D will be an great upgrade of the K10D. At first it do not sounds like an big upgrade, but for me it sounds that this camera is more made for the photographer then the K10D. The quality of the photos sounds like one of the biggest isues of the developers. Not doing an race for getting an high as possible frames pro second... for most photographers is that not interesting. And if you need it, then there is a burst mode...
And more options to make photos on the style you like.

With the quality of the photos, the SR, an nice dust removal system, wheather resistant and liveview will make the K20D an very competive camera! We must be proud on Pentax to make a camera like this!

Let's talk now on the K30D, 645D and the K1D.

I would love if you were right, but then again at full res it specifies you are limited to 2.8fps and a 38 jpg and 16 RAW file max.

So my guess/hope is that you will get some lower res options.

I am no expert, but equally important to fast fps, is for how fast a frame rate will the AF remain active between shots?

Given that both the K200D and K20D have weathersealing, is there any chance that the updated 18-55mm is also weathersealed?

I'm ready to order the K20D as soon as it's available and would love a weathersealed lens but can't justify $700 for the 16-50mm SDM lens...

This may be of some interest.

The full resolution images of the new cameras and lenses. I got them from the painfully slow pentax press site. This is just a mirror.

It allows you to correct for back/front focus issues on a per-lens basis. The K10D had a global focus adjustment that was accessible in 1.10, but it was disabled with 1.20.
I really hope they make this feature available to K10D users via a firmware upgrade! It was on my wish list from the beginning.

The K20D:

Eingebautes P-TTL-Automatikblitzgerät mit automatischer
Zuschaltung bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen, Leitzahl 13
bei ISO 100, Leuchtwinkel 28 mm (äquivalent zu 35 mm),
Blitzschuh auf Kameraoberseite für Systemblitz, Synchronzeit
1/180 Sek., X-sync (Synchronanschluß)

Sadly not....

I'm pretty sure their using MLU and a held-open shutter to achieve 20fps, so I'm suspecting the 2.8fps is purely the limit outside of burst mode, but that burst mode may not have any real restrictions other than being JPEG-only.

No teleconverters in sight, despite the release of the DA* 200mm f/2.8 and 300mm f/4, on top of the already available DA* 50-135mm f/2.8. I can see how a couple of 1.4x and 2x TCs coupled with the long primes would be of great interest to sport and wildlife photographers.

The limit is likely set by the sensor, or perhaps by the PRIME pocessor capability.

The Sony 10MP ccd in the K10D had a 3.3fps limit, IIRC, which I am sure is specified at full sensor resolution.
