[Highlights:

3 fps, but burst mode of 20 fps
ISO6400
1299 EUR with kit lens.
Live view
Dynamic range enlargement
14 bit analog to digital "transformer" (12 bit is mentioned too)
I love the dust mapping function that shows a picture of the sensor (in the correct orientation) with a map of the dust spots. It's a small thing, but very practical.

Yup it's gone. I have it open on the computer but the file won't save. Must have been put out too early.

Anyone know if the K200D will have liveview? If not what would the advantage of it opposed to the K10D besides size? If it cost more then looks like I am in for the K10D if it is cheaper. There seems to be no WOW factor for me personaly with the K20D so no need to go into anymore debt than need be.
No I don't think so judging from the PDF. It does allow the digital preview to be stored now I think.

K200D: 4 JPEGS and 4RAW in continuous mode? I hope that's a typo... and it's 16-20 JPEGs, not 4...

That had better be an oops. Even 4 RAW's is an issue when the competition is delivering 6-9 RAW buffers (A200 is 6 RAW's, but if it's write speeds are anything like the A100 it'll get as high as 12 RAW's with a UDMA CF card, D40X has a 9 RAW buffer, E-510 is 6 RAW). But that's the only weak point in the K200D that I can see.

For anyone that can read the PDF (in german), is there any mention of 'anything special' through/in the viewfinder? Thanx for your help.

20 FPS at 1.6 MP/frame is no big deal

According to my basic calculations: 20 FPS at 1.6MP/frame is the equivalent of 32MP/sec. Now you can basically divide that 32MP any way you like. 32MP/s allows a little over 10MP/frame for a 3FPS. So 20FPS at 1.6MP/frame in reality is no more impressive than 3FPS at 10.67MP/frame. No knock against the K20D, but this feature, at least, does not impress me much (if those are indeed the true specs of the burst mode).

live view in viewfinder?

I skimmed through the available German documents, but there doesn't seem to an indication of LV in viewfinder as many of us had expected, based on that Pentax patent someone had found.

There is a mentioning of grid lines that can be superimposed and I first took that for an indication, that there is an extra "layer" in the viewfinder. Later in the brochure however there is a picture of the rear LCD with those superimposed grid lines and I am afraid that will be all we will get in this incarnation of the K series cameras.

So, where is the K1D or the K645D, that have this feature? I think it would be cool to be able to toggle a clipping warning and/or histogram as an overlay into the optical viewfinder!

Cheers,
Torge

This is reasonable enough. It's not an area in which they really want to focus the design of the camera, but they need a high burst rate as a checklist item.
