A bit disappointing to those where were expecting to vary the fps:MP ratio dynamically to something more useful.

Thoughts on where 1.6MP images shot at 20 fps might come in handy?

Even if you accepted the relatively low framerate, it'll only be good for 5.5 second clips, and no sound.

1.6 MP images might come in handy if, uh, you don't care at all about image quality. But then why would you want speed?

I was thinking maybe coupled with the reported phenomenal high ISO performance performance, this would make for so nice candid night shots ... but the low-light AF is still below par.

Anyway, who am I kidding, I'd love to get my hands on one just to look at the IQ (not going to happen on a poor grad student's stipend, but I do love my K100D).

Sure the burst mode is a gimmick, but it's not being overly emphasized and, if you think about it, it is pretty darn cool.

Not to useful for me but could be useful for anyone who wants to capture fast paced action in phots that will only be posted to the internet or that will only be printed at low resolution. Examples would be the sports pages of on-line news services, war-corespondents, school sports photographers for printing in the school paper or yearbook, situations like "I'm gonna let go now and see if baby takes his first step" etc. Obviously not for those who hope that every photo they take might be suitable for framing at poster size.

Shooting with high FPS is a must for a sports photographer like myself. I really hope the updated firmware lets me customize my FPS speed.

Pentax just doesn't get it. Fps is one thing but being able to track the subject is the most important thing. They completely missed it here! Same old focus system.

Yes indeed, that's what I want it for, but at more than 1.6mp.

Chris (Codiac) did state that there was goods news coming up for sports shooters, I don't think it is this he was referring to, so it must be a lens, but the only things I can see are the DA*200/2.8 (expensive as it's *, and 200 isn't very long), and the DA*300/4 (f4 is often too slow). So I'm unsure what he was referring to.
