Meet Britain campaign... What this!? Advertising?!!

To celebrate the launch of the new PENTAX K-30 DSLR camera, PENTAX has launched Meet Britain, a nationwide competition asking members of the public to submit images of the things they feel make Britain great

PENTAX Launches Meet Britain - Latest news - PENTAX Photo

Finally! Something in an attempt to get pentax into the public domain. In the UK at least!

Looks like Pentax is finally starting to wake from its long slumber.

The many concurrent previews on some of the reputable sites do suggest that they are pushing a bit on the marketing front

I get the impression they rounded up as many journalists and bloggers as they could, and took them on an open-top bus ride around NYC

Lets hope they push properly and get it on tv...

Seems like too much to ask for in a way... But it's needed!

Wayyyy, I can get involved in this Odd that they're launching a huge campaign in the UK and not anywhere else. But they're going for outdoors again, perhaps there's some sort of consistency to Pentax marketing now?

I wouldn't exactly call it huge!
Better than nothing though.

Huge by Pentax terms. As in, I actually got e-mailed (by the company, not a magazine) about a campaign in the UK. That's already gigantic compared to Pentax's marketing here in the past.

Makes sense, what with the recent Diamond Jubilee and the upcoming Olympics, the spotlight is on Britain.

The colours of the cameras certainly tie in well with the union jack, as evidenced on the competition homepage.

One step at a time folks. Pentax won't be (re)built in a day.

That's what they said about the D5481 near Bidford in Warwickshire, but Top Gear did it! Therefore, Pentax should get in touch with Jeremy Clarkson about rebuilding itself in one day. Most likely it will involve high-visibility jackets in the promotion campaign.
