So the DA* 16-50 is still not as good as it should be...
Aye. It look's like she's got a blue halo. Still, it might be the JPEG - 6 quality that's messing with the CA.

The vista shot, the second, has bad purple and green fringing...

Eerrrr... am the only one to think that the bride image is unbelievably noisy for an ISO 200 shot?

Look at the background and oof parts... am I just seeing things?

I thought the same thing. The background looked pretty noisy for 200 ISO. I hope it proves to be better in actual production cameras. I also noticed the significant purple CA on the left edge of the veil...

I think it might be an illustration of the HDR mode: the background is lifted up to clear the shadows (maybe to ISO 400/800) while the highlights are kept just in the right place (lots of details in the bride's veil).

If this is the case, it's pretty good in fact...

Wait and see...

Mmmmh: obvious banding in the B&W shot of the cathedral(?) in the shadows (in the upper windows)...

... wait a minute... that's not banding, it's actually a very fine grid probably put here to avoid people from falling

Wow!... If that's indeed the case: I am sold on resolution...
That is a typical Pigeon Grill..They have the same at Notre Dam in Paris

That's nitpicking. I bet you wouldn't notice that on A2 print.
And I bet it could be easily fixed in raw software.

If Oly can completely eliminate CA in their lenses, so should Pentax.

Jeez, there's just no pleasing some people. ...very bad CA, blah, blah, blah etc..

Let's get this in context - the resolution surpasses 35mm film. The detail from the images is truly stunning considering the compression of the jpeg. I'm a believer!

Isn't CA also eliminated "in camera" on Olympus cameras? Software would be the same.

Their system is specially designed to avoid these flaws inherent to a digital sensor. Unless you want pentax to go 4/3s, that's not a good example

Maybe just me also, but focus doesn't look like it's on the eyes on my screen and rather on the hair and veil.

Do you mean the CPU in the lens communicating with the body, and firmware updatable that Oly people keep talking about?

The K20d.jp website is really sophisticated... must be one costly webdesign and upkeep. Slick... in the good sense.

There's difference between noise and grain: we don't want plastic looking shots a-la Canon, right?
