Interesting that the bottom of the article says the K20 will be sold with 18-55, 16-45 or 16-50 lens kits.

Thanks for the link.

In the test shots it gives us an ISO 3200 shot that is at least two stops underexposed.
Quality: so, so.

I like your delicacy

This picture is in fact... 100% crappy as it should being ISO 3200 underexposed at least 2 stops!

BUT.... I can't see no VPN!

Funny review...I wouldn't put too much stock in the sample shots though, the photographer doesn't seem overly skilled :P

I also love the quote..."how hard would it be to include a 3" screen?" Well think about it...I'm sure it would have been meant an entire re-design of the k10D body just to fit in an extra 0.3 inches of screen. A small trade-off, imho.

Am I the only one that noticed? We now know where those 'leaked photos' [the ones out in the desert] came from! You know, the ones a few people were complaining were taken with a very early firmware, even showing incorrect EXIF info. Some of the cast of characters seen in the test shots of this article are the same ones from that thread!

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice that... Were any of the shots actually in focus?

Funny read - I love how he states, "my obvious talent"

Should have read, "my obvious LACK of talent"

And obviously, he's another reviewer sucking on a CaNikon teet..

My bad ... only had time to read the article now... "Pentax escorted ePHOTOzine and a group of other journalists out to Dubai as they were eager to show off the new dust removal and dust alert features." So it could have been any of a number of them.

The viewfinder tilt problem also seems to still be there (not too surprising since it's really a K10D body, but I was hoping)...

So, doesn't show exactly who leaked the pictures, but does demonstrate that they were legit. (Magical MIT software and secret database of K100D sensor fingerprints not withstanding. Ahem.)

I tried a number of different shutter speeds and tried a panning shot to get a blurred background with a sharp subject. I shot at ISO100 to get as smooth an image as possible and with the help of the Shake Reduction, I got a nicely blurred image with the face of the rider still sharp.
Does SR support panning with the K20D?

Taken in RAW DNG, the colours are predictably muted. Pentax say the PEF RAW file holds more information so is a little better.
I wonder what could be different. They're both 12 bit, right?

I thought I'd sign up to reply to this thread.
I was browsing through google looking for reviews on the k20d and I saw your site and thought about joining the "friendly pentax discussion board".
That was until I noticed how heartlessly you tore the review apart. I have read the review and don't see anything wrong with it. He doesn't appear to be a professional photographer and the bit about his "obvious talent" appears to be tongue in cheek to me, but you lay into him like you're the word on the subject.
I think you all should be ashamed of yourselves. It's threads like this that put people off joining. What would happen if I ask something that to you seems obvious? I'll probably get pounced on and tore apart as well.

I only wanted to join to put this reply in. I may watch this thread to see you all jump to the defensive. Whether I reply or not will depend on your attitudes.
