It just came to me that the camera/lens are not included. This is just for the pouch. My God. They have finally lost their minds. I am gravely concerned for the future well-being of this company.

They do as stupidly as others do (huh...).
Ask brands as Leica & co, they were first to do such things (as if Leica needed any luxury boost).
Pentax often does that kind of things. If it didn't sell or didn't brought anything, they would have stopped doing so.

I think it is easier to pull a fast one from Leica shooters, as they are not exactly budget conscious, more or less. If Leica can get their fanboys to drop $8,000 for a camera that only shoots in black and white, just about anything is possible, really.

But, I hear that the price of K-01 is fast approaching $400. Did they in the right mind really think that people would pay almost just as much for the pouch as the camera itself?

Well, with 5 (or is it 6) billion people in the world they only have to sell 300. And look how much publicity they got. Still think it is crazy, but if it gets "Pentax" on a blog or magazine article then whatever the cost was is immaterial. And do they really care if they actually sell them? We keep complaining Pentax has no marketing, maybe this it?

When is the full frame camera case being released? Will my old FA lenses fit in it? Do you think there are enough full frame lenses in Pentax lineup to justify releasing a full frame camera case at this time?

Heh. No rage here. I don't care what it looks like and I don't care what others think and I don't buy that, "Pentax should ahve spent the money on something else" argument. We don't have any idea what there product plan was so we can't say what they should have done.

The Green Button is wrong and the rubber door is a kluge but as a camera, for my needs, it is very good.

Pentax can keep the $300 case though.
