ya like WTF... People are not gonna seriously buy this are they, it's almost half the cost of the camera? From what I can already tell by the tons of official pentax leather I've bought, they use crap cheap leather and charge a pretty penny for it and I would not doubt this is the same...

I don't either but then, there're so many 'special edtions' stuff of pretty much anything and people stupid enough to buy them... why wouldn't they.

At least the K-01 is a object with a certain design (like it or not). The Swarovski is only a bling bling press release mover. Nothing else. Newson brings an image (pun intended) to the brand (again, like it or not).

People buy what they like and can afford. We might all be shocked or dismayed at the names we get called by people who don't get the same pleasure we do from using our camera gear - unnecessary affectation is as much a judgment as an absolute.

Having said that, this price makes a Billingham look more affordable, and less of a luxury! (See what I mean?)

Maybe they were going to restrict sales to Japan at first. It's clear, if you go to Pentax Japan's store site, that it's now a worldwide release of 300.
