I'm really excited for this thread to run over 100 pages of all the usual suspects saying that Pentax shouldn't go full frame.

Dont forget the canon 5d mk3. 22 mp. its not always about the mega pixels folks. 24 is more then enough and i would rather have larger, more light absorbing pixels. the 5d mk3 has better high iso performance then the new d800. on the flip side, the d700 12mp had better low light performance then the 5d mk 2 21mp.
I don't know where you get your info, but I have not read anyone else say that the mk3 has better high iso performance than the D800E

So on this new full frame camera, would we be able to use the lenses we are already using till we can save up to get a full range of full frame lenses? If not, why...? This is my first look at a full frame camera. I think it would come in handy photographing my motorcycle races.

Thanks
Jim

Can't believe that photo is still floating around. But if the K-3 will in fact be announced at photokina, we'll be there to bring you a preview!

dreams would come true if they released a FF, I specifically have avoided all digital gear from pentax because of this, I have a Q, but that does not really count and I also have a K-01 but I use that with my film lenses and if they release a FF I wont have to by new glass because I'll be starting college for photography this year and when I gotta get my pro gear it'd be nice just to have to buy the body, if not I'll jut save my butt off and jump a format and go to the next gen 645D...

Why did this thread, https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-news-rumors/190580-new-k3-rumour.html, from June 25 citing the very same webpage close after only two posts but now this virtually identical thread is maintaining traction for three pages? It's just recycled nonsense. I'm all for Pentax full frame discussions but not much for seeing a recirculated, poorly researched, unsubstantiated "rumor", that's in fact no more than an old played out joke. It was dismissed back then, it should be dismissed again.

What is a full frame? Is it any better than what Pentax currently has in their line up?? Is it really full?

Nice looking cam. Looks like a tank!

Pricey though. Kinda high. Should be in the high teens, possibly $1950 max. I don't need the video and crap. Better yet Pentax, make a bare bones model for $1495.

It's not the D800 sensor. It's the D600 sensor, priced $700 (?) more than the D600.

If you post process your images, you the D800 would allow you to use ~30% higher ISO for the same 'noise' level as the 5D.

I always post process any picture that even remotely matters.

I just want to state on record, that this rumor is false. And I want to reaffirm this by saying that I say this with the greatest of confidence.
That being said, the K-3 will follow in the K'5 footsteps in the sense that it will give current FF's a run for their money. And that includes the D800 also.
So hold you breath and watch as Pentax takes its rightful place(again) as having the worlds best APS-C camera.
