Full frame?

Sorry, but PF bylaws require it to be brought up in every thread.

Would announcements be made on the opening day?

There are usually a glut of press releases just before and further details with each brand presentation.

Looking forward to the first week of September when the leaks are likely to start occurring.

Just for reference, the K-r was announced about 2 weeks before Photokina 2010, and the K-5 was announced a day before the show started. IIRC, the real rumors regarding these cameras (especially the K-r) only started popping up a few weeks before their announcements.

As for Photokina 2012, all I can say is that the Pentax Ricoh booths are pretty big judging from the floorplan, about 2/3 the size of Nikon's and right next to them (and far from the restrooms this time, thankfully). I'd say the size alone makes it fairly certain that they've got quite a bit more than just existing models to show there.

I anticipate crap, again.

So that I won't be disappointed.

If pleasantly surprised, I may hold off on Leica MM

Next time, don't set the alarm when you're having such a nice dream.

But seriously, if Pentax comes out with the DA zoom, perhaps 18/20-70/80mm/2.8, I'd frigging grab it!
Don't matter if it's gonna be huge, or heavy, I'd walk ard with it! (how much heavier and larger can it be?)

But from the looks of it, I think it's gonna be a remake of the fantastic:

DA20-70/3.5 = A35-105/3.5, no?
