It's definitely new. AT the top it says "As of Jan.30, 2008". That's today.

Am surprised noone commented on the fact that the 17-70 is going to be SDM, thats news for me and it will be the first non DA* to get SDM.
But only f4. Sigma 17-70 , is mostly faster with most of its range being f4 or faster. Only about the last 5-10mm is 4.5.

And a few more we never expected. If any one from the forum will be at the PMA just ask at the Pentax display where Wendy b is hanging at they will tell you. I would love to sit down and chat.

Sure? It shows the 18-250 in the "Current DA Lenses up to Jan 2008", so I believe it's a new roadmap. You may need to flush your graphics cache or open that graphic alone in its own window.
The roadmap was just updated between 7 to 8pm EST (or between 9 to 10am Tokyo local time on Jan 30). So this was AFTER mattdm made this thread - he must be psychic or something

This new roadmap is supposed to coincide with the new lenses PMA showcase press releases. But it wasn't updated in the server until 2 to 3 hours after the press releases.

Yes, the confusion you can see at the start of this thread was due to the fact that the new roadmap wasn't there when mattdm started this thread (yes, I did clear the cache). Only about 2 to 3 hours after the PMA new lenses showcase press release did we get the new updated version from the Pentax Japan server.

I've started saving for my DA* 60-250mm I reckon it'll be about 650-700 and also my K20D!

My roadmap goes:
BUY DA* 60-250mm & Sell DA 50-200mm when it's released
BUY K20D around christmas & SELL K10D but keep the grip
BUY DA* 16-50mm & SELL DA 16-45mm

So anyone wana purchase some of my gorgeous photos?
At least take a look

The more I think about it -- if tests don't show the DA* 200mm prime to be very superior to the Sigma or Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 zooms in CA & fringing -- that my only DA* purchase, as an 'any weather outdoor walk-around' lens, may end up being the 60-250mm f/4 if it proves to 'test well' wide open. Yes, surprising to me to hear me say that too! But the K20D's high ISO performance and SR should make up for the one stop slower lens then I'd otherwise be likely to buy. Finding I have dust in my 300mm plus a crunchy aperture all from the trip to Tanzania (hope Sigma can clean it out), I'm beginning to desire the weather/dust proofing of the DA* line.

The only known test to date (the one made by Chasseur d'Image) concluded that this DA*200 is, to be short, a f******g good lens. I doubt the tammy would be near that.
