Which uses the leaked D600 photo made on a wooden table as a product photo?
Are Nikon's product photography standards this low?
Nikon could transmit to their distributors the order information without having transmitted the marketing packet, happens a lot when something is just released. Adorama will often have the specs on a device but no picture in the initial stages of that device having been offered for sale.

If the K-3 is the Sony 24MP APS-C sensor, the timing of it is interesting and seems to confirm how the industry works, with Sony going first with its sensor, then letting Nikon go about 6 months later, then Pentax:

NEX-7/ A77/ A65 - end August 2011
D3200 - April 2012
K-3 - September 2012

If anything happens on FF, it will probably go on a similar schedule.

So if the K3 is promoted as a high end (Professional?) Camera, what specs do you think it includes that separates it from the K5?

Aside from extra megapixels, maybe

- more sophisticated AF
- dual SD card slots
- faster FPS
- bigger buffer
- more video control options

plus general body tweaks based on K-5 experience.

I think Pentax FF will be. But after D600 and A99 in several months later. Next year, I think. The rumor about March, 2013 could be the truth.

I'm guessing:
  • Higher MP
  • Improved color sensitivity
  • Lower min. ISO
  • Weaker AA filter
  • Improve low level NR system
  • Improved AF
  • Focus peaking
  • Improved continuous shooting speed
IMO. the buffer will likely remain the same, though I'm thinking the K-3 will have added continuous shooting modes. ie. 8FPS, 5FPS, 3FPS. Which will help immensely to keep control of the buffer.

Wouldn't they need lenses?

I'm going to skip this one. It sounds like a K5 that produces bigger files.

Yeah, so, would you:
A) release them months before you announce an FF body
B) work on them silently and release them with an FF body

If it were me... (and I'm not Pentax), I would announce a new roadmap with the addition of the FF lenses. And the reason for that is where this would motivate customers to stay with Pentax rather than jump ship.

But that's just me.

They have 10 already.

They're missing a standard zoom and a wide angle zoom. Another telephoto zoom would be nice, too.

All three could be on the roadmap already.

Am I correct in assuming many of those are no longer in production?
Additionally... I think a few of those were not intended for digital.
IMO. Pentax would likely need to deliver qualifying FF lenses similar to what they are doing with 645D.

No - ten currently described as full frame. Another 4 that are actually full frame and just not given FA/DFA designation.

Yes. Incidentally they seem to be among the most expensive and sought-after Pentax primes... FA 31, FA 43, FA 77...

The 77 has more PF than I care for. The 31 is verrrrrrrrrrrrry nice.
