Agreed. At the same time, the K-01 has reportedly great IQ. If some sort of optional viewfinder were available, or a rangefinder permutation of the K-01, perish the thought, I might go for it as a walk-around option. Problem is, I don't like the pancakes, not convinced they'll do. In the end, the X100 or its successor might suit me better, or better still, the Fuji GF670...

I do expect a 645D2 to be announced, even if not yet there. It does not matter much, have to win next weekend's lottery anyhow. But I still believe that Ricoh/Pentax will win if they have both a valid 645D development and an FF, no matter how little money they might initially make on FF.

Until then I'll still be the happy owner of a 645N system, even though it is seriously challenged by a 60 year old Rolleiflex at the moment. Where is a digital camera with a waist level finder and native square format?

Did you see the Samsung MF 36mm x 36mm prototype?

Is this Samsung's first medium format digital camera? -- Engadget

We've been informed by an anonymous source that there will be a large number of press releases (not 9 cameras, and not tomorrow) soon We will be able to post the news as soon as it is allowed to do so.
And Adam has spoken. OK, back to coffee.

Can anyone explain the importance of having both a K5n and a K3? I can see how this would make sense if the K3 was a full frame, but why two high end aps-c cameras? Is there really a market for that?
The D7000 did not replace the D300s.... and though the latter is discontinued, the rumored D400 is slated to replace it, and possibly a D7100 for the former. Both are high-end APS-C. I have no idea why Nikon has them both... What of the D90 then? I assume that one is discontinued by now though.

Whoops, looks like Pentax's former partner is now a potential opponent... the 645D better be upgraded this year (or lowered by half in price!)

I have an anonymous source that told me that Sep 12 is not only the day that iPhone 5 will be announced, but also Apple will make it known that they purchased Pentax off from Ricoh, and that they will be coming out with FF mirrorless that uses iPhone as a detachable screen called iCam. Thank God. Finally an awesome development.

iPhoto is already taken. I think they could create quite a following by calling it iPentax: a merging of the unlikeliest sorts.

I just hope one of the 9 new product is a new full function WR flashgun replacing AF540FGZ with a faster sync speed...Other than that I am almost impartial...New DSLR? Great but I am not in a hurry to jump on the new model cause I still love what my K-5 can do...

What about one of these announcements being the "DA High Magnification Zoom" listed on the lens roadmap?

When I asked about a square crop (better than no square at all) I've been said I just had to crop in PS
