what is the percent of accurate photos?
That would also depend on the camera settings and even the photographer. I "try to have" every camera I own set at the narrowest settings for both focus and metering.

Based on my camera settings presently (with two current Pentax digital cameras) and my level of experience (full time career professional); I've achieved about (or almost) ninety percent. But then again; how many people out there also place any of their cameras through a one thousand shot type of test on literally every camera setting?

Not fast lenses.
I don't agree wrt to the DA70. f/2.4 is fast for a 70mm (like a 50mm 1.7, I guess?), but I guess it has much higher contrast at f/2.4 than the FA50/1.4 has at 1.4, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's a better AF lens.

Sounds about right. Are you joking, or is this another informed guess?

May is about 9 months away. How apt.

and the fifth month of the year

so that does make sens of the "9 announcements on the 5th, no wait, 5 on the 9th, no wait 9+5 =14 = 1st of 4th = 1st of the 4th month = 1st of april" - confusion.

Our plans have had to change, alas, but we had NZ as the first stop in a rent-a-flat and see-if-we-like-it retirement. Nelson looked good (via the Internet magic carpet) and then we found someone who lived there for year on sabbatical at an avian research facility and gladly vouched for the community.

BTW Transit, will you take me down the pub, as well?
Bloody Nora, this could snowball
Nelson ain't cheap but certainly is nice

Ditto. Sure it gets more challenging as the light fades and people start moving etc, but it works.

Maybe I am not enough of a perfectionist. Most of the time things work out OK.

What is the percent of accurate photos with your FA50/1.4? 90%? 50%? 10%?
I recently shot hundreds of simple documentary shots at night of moving people illuminated only by dim lanterns, only using the K-5 and FA 50 1.4. I'd say my keeper rate was about 90% without any special effort or skills on my part. The following shot was typical of a hundred:

1/100, f/2.2, 50 mm, ISO 10000

Matrioshka doll - 2012 Lismore Lantern Parade

Everything was acceptably in focus, certainly enough for screen, Internet and small prints. The noise and shadows would eat away at any sharpness before a slight missed focus would be noticeable anyway.

Even if the K5's AF was the very worst of the worst, then it still doesn't justify Pentax putting the (software?)-fix for it in a new body. That way they're basically asking money for a firware upgrade.
One of my complaints about the K-5's AF is that the sensor is too large.

If Pentax does announce the K-3 and the 645D II before Photokina then I guess this will leave the FF LXD to be announced at C+ and available in May. Remember Pentax likes to announce big things at CP+.

Still my guess is just the K300 and the K5n will be announced (K-mount dslr body wise) before Photokina.
