The 9 Things that Pentax is to be Announced (Updated!)

1. K-300
16MP old CMOS sensor used in K-01 and K-30, re-using the K-r body, i.e., penta-mirror at 0.85X and 96% coverage.
RH's Certainty Percentage Close to 100%!

2. K-5N
16MP new CMOS sensor technology, new image processor, APS-C of course, 100% penta-prism finder at 0.92X, articulated screen, new 21-point SAFOX X AF system (central 9-crossed, surrounding 12 points linear), improved continuous tracking and zone focusing, 8 fps, improved video functions (with manual control and continuous AF option during video recording, very possibly).
RH's Certainty Percentage Close to 100%!

3. K-3/K-3S*
*Name Tentative
24MP APS-C flagship, Sony IMX096 CMOS sensor, new image processor, newly designed 100% coverage 1X magnification penta-prism (equivalent to 0.65X at 50mm for 135), articulated screen, 21-point SAFOX X AF system, 6 fps, enhanced white balance detection, enhanced video functions, stereo microphone built-in. Version without AA filter to be marketed later in early 2013, targeted/suggested price set at 1,400 Euros. The K-3 Super will be the highest resolution APS-C camera body ever on Earth and would put almost all the existing Pentax lenses to death! ;-p

This is already in one of the other threads - do we really need another one? Especially as this is all just a rumour as well - not an actual leak. Especially not coming from RiceHigh.

Who needs 21 slow-af points?
The AF might not be bothering most of us, but it certainly bothers a wildlife / sport / something professional. To have a bigger market, they should start by speeding up the low light AF.
Not trying to troll.

Following from RH's speculations, my own hunches with 0% certainty, just gut feelings.

- A new 645D
- The 560mm
- A new Q
- K-3 (flagship)
- updated K-5 (strong rumors for this)
- A flash
- A new mirrorless in the shape of an MX
- Some Limited Edition body caps by Marc Newson
- Some PENTAX branded shoe laces

If you read RiceHigh's original post on his site, he says they definitely will have something like this - just not until next year (likely 2H) when they release a FF DSLR. He doesn't say primes specifically, but he says they're reworking some FA and FA* designs, and I'd have to think some of them would be primes. My guess would be for the FA*24 and/or FA20. Maybe, if we're lucky, also the FA*200/4 Macro and FA*300/2.8!

But Primarily (as he also hinted) I think they'd have to be working on the equivalents of the FA*28-70, FA*80-200, and a kit zoom.

I'm not a big fan of RiceHigh (in fact I don't think I've even visited his site more than once or twice in the last year), but I have to say this scenario sounds quite plausible.

If true, I don't care about more AF points. I'd rather have smaller AF points. Especially on the K-5, the center one is just too big.
