Nothing better to do?

I went out today and took a lot of photos.. met a guy with a beautiful, small ranch and got his permission to photograph it.

Then traveled to a local, community festival today and shot some more photos. Discovered my little K-x isn't nearly as obsolete as I recently imagined. Plus, it got me away from you people for awhile!

I actually think the K-5 II is a great follow-up to the K-5. The K-5 is actually a very good camera, where mainly the auto focus could use improvement in certain situations. Pentax responded very cost efficiently to the Pentax community. My main question is why there are the K-5 II and K-5 IIs. Is the K-5 IIs better tuned for astro photography combined with the gps?

The only difference that I know of that the K-5IIs has no AA filter on the sensor (the 's' does not stand for Space ;-0 )

Bossa: I know the k-5 IIs doesn't have the anti aliasing filter, which is supposedly the difference. What would one need that for?

The AA filter stops you from drinking too much on the job so removing it frees up the creativity. ;-)

Seriously: The AA filter is a blur filter and removing it allows the sensor to show it's full resolution. The downside can be moire interference patterns where fine regular textures occur in images.
