Is it just the rubbish pictures, or is the leather pattern more pronounced on the II?
I would say rubbish picture

So the difference is that the plastic from the body extends over the LCD more? Someone above said it's MUCH different. I don't know anything about LCD technology, does the lack of the border around the viewable screen mean anything? I don't consider what I see significantly different at all.
No this difference is only showing that it is not a hoax !
There probably won't be major differences on the screen.

Ahhh, thanks, I see now. Yours and the original comment was just saying that because of the difference, the picture was less likely to be a hoax. I thought I was missing something. Thanks for the clarification.

This does not mean a K-5 II is not about to be released. This only means that the images are fake. We should keep in mind that the K-5 is due for a replacement.

True, but the grain patterns do match so we have to wait some more for legitimate information.

I’ve handled the actual successors last week (pre-production model).
These pictures are fakes.

We know nothing at this point... Pentax could have designed the 5II and later decided to offer an AA filterless version. Rather than have new product photos taken (for $$$) I'd shop the pictures myself if I were the marketing manager at Pentax HQ.

So yes, the photos are fake but the products could still be for real.

Looks like the screen is recessed on the K5II as well which would be nice - I cant seem to get a screen protector to stay on my K5 as the edges are somewhat exposed and when in my bag it must rub the protector slightly and off they come.
Fyi, the ACMAXX version works great.

Back on topic; This is the first I've heard of an AA filterless K-5II, I thought that was just going to be on the K-3. This may be worth the upgrade - I remember a rumor that they reworked the electrical layout of the sensor; they could have boosted the DR and high ISO output as well.

And more durable (and WR too).

I owned a camera with a tilt screen - rubbish. It was the first thing to break. It is just another do-dad that people ohh and ahh over that is used seldom and unnecessarily adds to the complexity of the mechanism.
Only thing I missed going from my Olympus c5060 to a DSLR was the EXCELLENT swivel screen, which actually offered better protection of the lcd when the screen was reversed for storage.

I can see it when I click "permalink". Not sure if the site owner has deleted that comment.

Thanks for the images ... I now need to practice my painting skills. I'm going to add "II" to my K-5, in order to fool all neophytes !
