Didn't Leica do so on the M8 with a 10mp 1.3x sensor?

Pehaps I was expecting something "more" as far as the K5 II/S (name?) but would this new camera entice present K5 owners to switch?
Maybe I am wrong but it doesn't look much like an "upgrade" to the K5, unless ... the AF is REALLY improved.
It will be interesting to find out if indeed there will be a "K3" in the near future.

Sorry, it's a DIY arrangement: you use your articulated arms.

I do agree, though. I'd like to see full articulation (not just tilt) if it didn't make a significant difference in WR or reliability. Not sure that's possible, though. Even if Pentax did release it, an unlikely prospect, it would take a while to see what was lost, if anything.

You have to be kidding, that is not an articulating screen. If that is the case, what a crock of S#@t. That is horrendous ... You MUST be kidding.

A "K-5" with a better AF and other tweaks? Even better, it has the same shape and even a similar name - so your wife/gf won't find out you're actually bought a new camera? I bet K-5 owners will order them in a hurry

But then, if we'll see a higher end K-mount camera, they'll want to buy that, too. Pentax's evil plan was revealed!

It's ALWAYS a fake!

How many times will people get sucked-in by this stuff? We'll see what Pentax releases when Pentax releases it.

And I'm sure the new flagship APS-C will look as different from the K-5 as the K-30 mid-range model does.

EDIT: Or maybe it will look exactly the same! ;-)

Well i guess for K-5 users and upcoming users here's what Pentax/Ricoh think. " If it ain't broke, improved it" =)

Absolutely! The K-5 is a great camera. Spend those R&D dollars to make the K-5 (version x) the camera with the most accurate, fastest, lowest light capable AF in the market. I have no idea and don't care if that is accomplished with improved sensors, filters, firmware, software or underwear. It would become the darling of every technical reviewer in the industry and it might just save Pentax.

Personally I'd let Nikon and Canon knock each other out in the FF space. Pentax would do better with the 645.

Yeah, well ... you're right I suppose. But I am not so sure if present K5 owners will jump to this one (K5 II/s) just yet. Considering that there could be a "K3" ...
At the end of the day though, it's all about money
"Evil P.R.(I).C" is the name of the game!

The message here is that the K5 does not have a decent AF system.

Not a leak, but official, the Zeiss 2/135 mm lens will not be available for Pentax.

I am still underimpressed, no interesting news from Pentax at photokina. Ok they present some cameras, some lenses, but nothing interesting for me,
Keeping APS-C only, I want a wide aperture 24 mm lens with a somehow upgraded K5. Nikon is on the way to overhal their mid-range prime lenses and the D600 is exactly what people would expect from Pentax.Nikon and Canon used the last 2 years for fishing in Pentax land. A lot more new prime lenses, very capable cameras ... Pentax needs to show more than a K5_30, K5s, K5-II, K5x, K005...
one week to go...
