Me thinks that if ever Pentax releases a FF it will be around $2,500 initially....considering Nikon had it for $2.1k and Sony for $2.8K. That's quite a lot of money for me for a hobby. I wish Pentax surprises us with a real budget FF.
That would probably be not advanced enough... More whining. Pentax should enter with at least mid level FF

I did look at that D600 post, and seems like plastiky thing, w/o weather sealing. If pentax would release K-3 with great ISO and WR(as should be) new focus system, and all. It would be more appealing even if it would be APS-C...IMO. For me K-5IIs looks just perfect for now. Let's see what will happen in next few days

Ouch, seems like it's even $2100 body only, and they even sell it with an inexpensive FF kit zoom. That's pretty aggressive pricing. I'm beginning to wonder if there really was an APS-C K-3 in the works, but that Pentax dropped it when information about the D600 started to surface. A refined K-5 at almost half the price makes more sense then.
Yes, fast forward a year and chances are there will be quite a few cheaper FF models around from the usual suspects with, perhaps, the likes of Fuji working on FF MILCs also around $2K and below. That would still only be halfway through the life of a new upmarket APS-C camera introduced at this year's Photokina. So perhaps there will now be a period of flux while folks work out where on the curve APS-C now ends and FF starts, though I am sure some very good APS-C DSLRs will continue to be produced for a long while and from Pentax too. The user base is simply enormous, into the millions, for a start.

What if Pentax would realease a high end FF DSLR and a FF mirrorless with a really good EVF to undercut the D600? (Clavius ducks in a corner...)

It is weather-sealed isn't it? I think I read that on DP review - not sure it's plastiky either. It does only have a 1/4000 shutter though, and the aesthetics of a brick.

The D600 is weather sealed... And, only the top and rear parts of the body have a magnesium alloy construction.

Well, I did not see mention of weather-sealing from B&W newsletter. Might look after DPreview one, but I'm lacking energy for looking it... For me 1/4000 would not cut it, and Iso is not so impressive either. Plastiky or not, I like K-5IIs more, and I'm waiting for Photokina too... repports...after that reviews

I can see that.

I am interested to see exactly what kind of resolution advantage the K-5IIs will have over the K-5II

1/4000? The DoF-porn addicted will have to rely a lot on ND filters, then

Yes, and at the same time I think it's the new Pentax actually listening to people, a K5 with improved AF, isn't that what a lot of peeps here on PF has been crying about for quite some time?

Now you've got it!!

Well Pentax had been listening to our demands. First that I remember is that the K-20 is great, just better ergonomics, af, better live view and a movie mode. Hence the K-7, and I think it delivered what everyone wanted initially, but then people said it sucked in the high iso department. The K-x, people didn't like the fact that it didn't have focus points and people wanted improved af. The K-r delivered on that, but once again, people didn't seem to receive it that well, people on the forum stated that it's just k-x with some minor improvements! Isn't that what people wanted?!

People are never happy with what they ask for, because then, they look at the next kids "lunch" and that looks more appetizing...

Ricoh isn't dumb and they are working like crazy to establish their presence again. Even in Poland, where finding Pentax equipment was a pain in the butt under Hoya, has had a reemergence in Poland under the short period under Ricoh. SO will we see a FF DSLR, probably sooner then if Pentax was still under Hoya's corporate umbrella. I say despair not and the 24 mp ff sensor that Sony has released looks promising. Pentax usually get the sensor after Sony and Nikon have their releases. 6 months minimum it looks like from prior camera releases.

Oh btw in Poland, Nikon is still pushing the D90... for about $906 with the 18-105 VR lens...

I would gladly take 1/4000 on a Pentax FF... just need a 49mm 3 stop ND with the FA 43 and FA77. And a 58mm for the FA31mm. Of course I doubt Pentax would come out with a model that is only capable of 1/4000, considering the K5 goes up to 1/8000.

A $2500 compact WR FF around the weight of the K5 with revamped 21 AF points SAFOX announced at CP+ and released in summer 2013 would be perfect....

Till then, back to my old tech, the perfectly functioning K5
