At last, a voice of reason.

The K-mount is fully compatible with an FF sensor + SR.
Not a problem.

To obtain 4 stops of support from the SR, you don't even need 1mm safety margin from lenses.

Pentax will produce an FF camera with SR. It will just take time. I'd say two years from now would be rather quick. I'll get a K-3 in the meantime because I don't want to wait 2-3 years for an FF model. But there is no doubt in my mind that the latter will be offered.

Maybe, but this time it's the first time with Ricoh behind them.

Maybe they just found the artwork cute. But in their minds: "these guys are desperate..."

This would be a big question for Pentaxians. Let's assume for the sake of discussion that the K-mount does NOT have enough clearance for a FF sensor + in-body SR.

1) Would folks here accept a Pentax FF offering without in-body SR? Would you spend $2,600 on one with not a single available Pentax-manufactured optically stabilized K-mount lens?
2) Would it be heretical for Pentax to abandon in-body SR (ignoring the 645D)? Has SR become synonymous with Pentax like weather-sealing and K-mount compatibility? Can SR be untangled?
What we don't know is what it costs to provide SR in a full frame body. Several Pentax owners are buying NEX camera bodies, which don't have SR, and i don't think they have any optical lens IS at the moment either - may be wrong on that but i don't think so.

One doesn't use SR for tripod work, or fast moving/panning work. I would certainly buy a FF without sR if it meant a lower price - can't speak for others. very likely will buy a Sony NEX one of these days, without SR . SR often buggers up images for folks that don't know its limitations, and then they complain about random OOF.

But we know the price difference between the K100D and K110D was minimal, so maybe the SR is not that expensive?

Pentax will never build a FF camera!!!!! so those who are waiting might as well move to another system. The FF system will not be built by Pentax because of the money, they could never compete with the company's that have built one.
They will build another camera simular the K-3 specks next year but it will not be FF.
The only other system will be the 645D and you know this is true because of the new lenses they have built for it, They have not come out with a lens that will work on FF since they took over . That should be telling you something...

So lets quit kicking a dead horse in the a$$ and stop all these FF posts.

I guess that's why Pentax never made APS-C Cameras becuase they could never compete with the company's that have built them?

What's a 'K-3 speck' ??

And that train keeps coming to the station and leaves the station empty. The train seems to be going the wrong direction so all the passengers stay at the platform waiting for a train going their direction.

But the train going in the right direction hasn't got any tracks laid out yet.

The railroad needs to put up a sign with a completion date of those tracks!

But the railroad doesn't know if it will ever have enough tracks, it's at best third in line for those tracks.

And potential passengers are leaving the platform for alternative transportation.
