Ricoh hasn't even owned pentax for a whole year. They are still on the hoya roadmap. I dunno if the k30 was a rocoh pentax or a hoya roadmapped product, but I took it as a good sign pentax/ricoh are serious. I wouldn't bet on them giving up on aps-c either....they have too much invested in crop sensors and lenses....

He mentioned the K-5II as a stop gap for upcoming things.... then he suggests FF like thingies... To me that sounded like `we go forward on FF and will halt any high end APS-C dvelopment...`
That isn't what I took from the post. I highly doubt they would stop APS-C development any time soon.

OGL did suggest something similar although he does foresee a more advanced K-3

I don't think so...K-3 will be flagship model and close the line of APS-C cameras.
And it could be high-end camera till FF realese.
That is two indications of the end of high end APS-C.
Worryworry, will they make a FF in the body of a K-5? Not bigger?

BTW I was about to make a remark in the other thread when I had to do something else, the screen for typing was still open so I do have the quote which suggested that available

This suggests a stop-gap while we wait for FF, so no more advanced APS-C in near future... Which I am more interested in and if there is one thing that annoys me greatly is that Pentax releaes are rarely if ever available (exception K-5 but that was very dicey with all the stain issues) in time for Carnaval... I had some hopes but they are shattered.
Oh well, maybe I could use the Samyang Tilt Shift..

Considering that FF cameras cost twice as much as a top APS DSLR the above doesn't make much sense.

Here is what I think are the juicy bits of the post.

Original title was "Don't lose hope in Pentax - the Full-Frame awaits us".

Then it was stated "In other words, the K-5 II can be more or less seen as a stop-gap measure. I'm going to hang on to my K-5 I and wait patiently until next summer. To give Ricoh some credit, you can't exactly design, develop, and deploy a groundbreaking new body over the course of just 1 year"

What do you mean? Something along these lines:

QuoteQuote:
I've been told that the products announced a couple of days ago, as well as all the products announced so far this year by Pentax, have all been part of the Hoya product roadmap for Pentax, rather than Ricoh's doing. Ricoh's big plans for Pentax are supposedly secret and internal, and as such, rumors surrounding them will be minimal. "Big plans" means that there will be an FF and pro gear- the release date of the FF is not certain right now, but it is very likely that it will at least be mentioned at CP+ 2013. You guys are going to have to trust me that I didn't just make this up

I don't mean to instigate, but I don't think the Adam you're talking about proved to be very smart.
