Yes, they get made fun of on April 1st. And those who don't wait, they get what they want NOW.

The Leica does not use the Sony sensor.

New ?Leica M? Uses CMOSIS? 24-MP CMOS Image Sensor - CMOSIS
Thanks, could we buy that? Or would they make an APS-H sensor for me?

Let's hear about the K-5II:s AF now, since it's the only news in the major league. What was the hands-on experience?

DC motor cannot handle heavy lenses
It depends on which lenses have to be moved. If patent A 2011-022280 applies, these would only be the two lenses on the left in the rear:
See https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-news-rumors/173969-pentax-560mm-59.html#post2096843 (scroll up one post for the actual full lens scheme).

maybe I should cut the aperture lever from one of them and send it in an envelope to Pentax? With the text, of course formed by cut and glued newspaper letters, "The 50mm will be next..."

Leica M......is this Sony?

It is not mentioned under Standard Products (see above). However, you could contact them: Custom Products

Any news about the (non)existence of f2.8 AF cross sensors in the K5II? Sensor layout?

Do we have any hands-on feedback regarding the new K-5s AF?
I said a little bit about Adam's and my conversation with Malcom in "my" thread too.

Wrt K-5II AF:

The K-5II at Photokina are sealed, we cannot do AF tests. Maybe, Adam manages to get another sample for a 1 by 1 comparison but I doubt that.

The technicians at Pentax Europe played a little bit with it and they shared this much with me: They have "the impression" (i.e. without being sure) that the AF locks more securely in dim light and that the low artificial light AF accuracy issue may be fixed.

But in order to really know, somebody has to do a proper test and I think Pentax Europe is as keen to see the results as we all are

+1 As I was new to DSLR's last time around, and being bitten by the AF. I will wait until it has been tested without a doubt this time before I pony up one dollar.

New roadmap?

Did anybody of the Pentax representatives mentioned they will show updated roadmap. Roadmap could introduce more certainty what the future will bring and it would be easier to invest money in Pentax products.

We keep hearing:

"good things are coming" from Pentax.

Has anyone pointed out to Pentax that with the other camera companies, the "good things are here"?

To everyone whining about ff

Please go buy a Nikon or Canon and STFU ALREADY!

It's 6 am here - I'm going to the beach to take some pictures with my K-5! Because I have no problem sticking with it for another year!
