I think most of the juicier announcements will come at CP+ because the big boys have, well, pulled out all their big guns here at Photokina.

Meanwhile in the Japanese homeland, Pentax is probably assembling their big new product announcements, while everyone else is in maintenance/sustaining mode. I'm not so sure if my observations are correct, but for some reason Pentax is putting homeland priority first before the rest of the world; to gain first more market share locally before internationally. That's how the K-x got famous, then the K-5 for its performance. Hopefully, they'll get to hog the limelight at CP+.

I'm thinking more of a 645DII, and probably a prototype FF (again?lol) along with more solid announcements.

As most who are thinking about CP+ and Pentax.

I'm looking forward to a true replacement to the K-r and not a medium step up in specs and price of the K-30.

K-r with a 16mp sensor and AF video for 600 or less at amazon (since they don't seem to care about MAP) oh yeahhh.

You guys are overanalyzing things people said who have no idea.

Please, sales representatives and anyone working in public relations are the least informed people in the whole company.

Why? Because they talk. If you want to keep secrets in a company, you don't tell PR, you don't tell sales.

Funny; yet spot on!
And even those who knows, I doubt they would tell Adam about plans still secret.

I would agree for sales reps, but PR people should at least know what the company wants people to know. Unless of course the company wants to screw its own image...
...but then again that's somewhat happening now with Pentax isn't it?

That's exactly what I said, but your conclusion is way off.
If you don't want leaks, you don't tell any secret stuff to PR.

In technology, stuff in development is usually secret .

I had the opportunity to speak with Jim Malcolm- more than just a PR or a sales guy. He seemed to be very enthusiastic about the future of Pentax Ricoh
