Switching between my Leica M9 rangefinder and my D800E SLR is hard to get your head around because of the fundamentally different ways they operate*, the K5IIs has solved this conundrum.

*not to mention the drastic contrast in ergonomics.
Agreed, The Nikon Ergonomics leave something to be desired.

I don't find the Nikon AF better in itself.. it seems more dependent on the lens from my perspective.

Fundamentally all AF systems are dependant on lenses, the AF will be more accurate with a f/2.8 or faster lens - but that doesn't automatically suggest that it is going to be twice as good with an f/1.4 lens - so many people seem to have that mentality.

It could be worse with Nikon ergonomics, personally I find Canon to be worse, especially the 1 series. IMO the Pentax 645D, Leica S2 and M series cameras are perfect - if only they could fix some of the metering issues with the M9 and Monochrom as neither camera can handle extreme changes in EV gracefully.

I find my NIkon D800E exposure to be less accurate than my K-5 and the ISO button on the D800 could have been better placed (as on the K-5) or they could have allowed a custom button to be remapped to that. I also find the colour to be 'different'.

Also new Sigma 30mm f/1.4 art lens

There is also a 30mm coming from the art line, looks good.

Art | SIGMA 30mm F1.4 DC HSM | SIGMA GLOBAL VISION

Now it's waiting for 50mm and 85mm, won't be long i believe.

That's a re-design (at least superficially) of the current 30/1,4 and isn't being released for Pentax.

You seem to be correct. I just looked up the spec's of the current model and it has 7 elements in 7 groups whereas this new lens has 9 elements in 8 groups. It's a pity they aren't releasing it for Pentax though.

Thumbs up for Sigma 30 mm 1.4

I received the Sigma 30mm 1.4 on sale for only $289 from B&H less than a week ago, and I am finding it quite sharp and useful. Low-light results at a party this weekend were great, so my two "party" lens are now Sigma 30mm 1.4 and Tamron 17-50 constant 2.8, which is another real great party lens with just the right "reach" that you need to keep from having to do too much "foot zooming" and finding people standing where you want to stand, or finding that you are standing with your back at the wall like with my FA 77 limited and still not able to frame the photo you had in mind.

Indeed too bad.
I 've the old version and it's good but i miss the quickshift. If it would have HSM that would mean quickshift as well

Maybe it's time to write some letters

I unfortunately have to respecfully disagree on that one.

Sigma has had quite the large amount of lens' releases in the last two years for number of cameras, but Pentax just is not one of them. One can even still technically find the Sigma 150mm macro as still listed as coming up for sale on various outlets, but it will also most likely never happen. One can also add this new variation of the Sigma 35, 1.4 to that listing.

Perhaps sometime next week (unless someone beats me to the finish line on this one) I'll work on a wish list of lens that can be forwarded directly to Sigma. I know exactly the people to give it to so that it will get noticed. But also, please don't let that stop anyone from also contacting Sigma directly and also expressing interest in getting more Sigma glass this way.

Also of note... Even though the Zeiss lens' for the PK weren't exactly up to date and were also manual focus; wondering if there will ever be any new Zeiss glass for PK.

Not sure if you're referencing my contact with Zeiss, but their claim is that there are no lenses in the PK pipeline.

To be honest, I thought our limiteds are good enough, are they not, to negate a need for an incredibly expensive Zeiss, or even go up against Leica M lenses. That's how some portray them.
