I don't think it matters how many they have. The important issue is do they have the right lenses available for a FF body.

Do they have the lenses they need?

24-70mm F/2.8?
70-200mm F/2.8?
24mm prime?
Professional grade 50mm?
Professional grade 85mm?
Professional grade 135mm?

The LTD lenses are nice, but I still want to see some in depth tests of these lenses on a high resolution FF sensor. Hopefully Pentax redesigns these lenses with modern coatings, a new version of SDM, and weather sealing.

i type in my zip and it wont even show me the closest retailer and you cant browse by map. so its useless for most of the country. I really thing they need to axe their web designer or do a consumer study for our opinions on usability of the site
That's because the closest retailer is probably in Boston (there are 6). You won't find a retailer anywhere but the largest cities, and not even all of those.

Five, really. They've listed one of the Hunts twice, once as "HUNT W B CO., INC. 99 Mount Auburn Street" (right address, wrong name) and once as "Hunts Photo & Video 99 Mount Street" (right name, wrong address).

I haven't checked in there for a while; I'll take a peek sometime next week and see what they're offering. Calumet has traditionally had more, but it's gotten pretty thin in the past few years -- I'll check back again and see if it's any better.

I would have thought there would be a dealer who could at least get Pentax stuff in Nashville, but nope, none at all.

No Pentax dealer in Atlanta. Fry's is listed as authorized retailer but they don't even stock the P&S models.

I'm aware there are dealers in boston, but unless I looked up a boston zip code to put in there, it won't tell me where the closest ones are. Most of sites give a distance option to search within, or at least let you browse by the map location. This doesn't have either option

I think Pentax would argue their DA 55 and their FA 77m are both professional grade. Of course there are some limitations, but presuming Pentax launches a FF camera with a 24-75 or similar (and they would be stupid not to), Pentax will have launched a 'new' mount with more lens options than any (actual) new mount launch I'm familiar with... far more than the A-mount or 4/3 or micro 4/3 at launch.

The K-5 is, in my opinion, almost certainly more demanding of the lens than any FF camera will be. The dropoff in resolution across the lens (corner performance) sensor is almost always less of a factor than the increased magnification required from a smaller sensor. The vignetting performance will be a bit worse, of course, but I've never found that to be too much of a problem with the FA lenses.

Pentax shouldn't attempt to 'eat the elephant' in one bite. Give us a camera, and we'll make do without the 135mm lens for a couple of years. The 24-75 is required at launch. The 70-200 would be smart to have at the same time. I'd prefer a 24mm prime to either, but I think I'm in the minority.

I think it just defaults to around 20 miles. What do you want? Actual effort from a contractor?

Haha. You have multiple illnesses.

Way to go, dude. I am a road biker, and ride hard as much as I can. I am a Pinarello man. What did you get?

Money much much better spent than another lens. I am a hypocrite in that I firmly believe one only needs a lens or two, but I own about tenor them, between three system (k mount, 645, and m mount).

Pentax has in the past months registered a patent for a 70-210 f2.8 designed for full frame

Sadly, it's only a variant in the patent of the 15-45mm f/2.8 for Q mount.

It seems to me - you're Pentax manager...or advocate...

The scheme is VERY SIMPLE

FA*600/4 was rather complex lens

or 400/5.6

anyway, this lens could be sharp with low CA. but...I don't undestand the price (Falk Lumo too, by the way)...

It's like first price of Sigma SD1...

The cheap kit zoom lens is way more complex than the FA* 600/4. Complexity has nothing to do with it. The DA 560/5.6 is not expensive for what it is. No comparable lens from any camera manufacturer is any cheaper.

Still possible to manufacture given the design, but then again, will Ricoh release the Kraken ...err cash, for that?

Interesting
The new roadmap doesn't have the 16-45mm F/4
