Lens road map updated.

The old map is here: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/attachments/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/11...ns_roadmap.pdf

The new road map (link to a FB post):

Basically the DA18-270 and the DA560mm is in there. They also update the picture of FA ltd to silver color one.

Why couldn't Pentax have tried to make the 18-270 WR? Especially if they're gonna charge a premium over the Tamron.

Pentax needs to bring something unique to the market if it's ever going to make a dent.

Not bad...It seems to me 20-35 or 22-38 LIMITED.

DA*15-85 - you forgot...

What would be the point of a 28-35 zoom? I think ogl is correct.

2013 looks to be a good year for lenses.

Ha, those two very wide angle zooms look fun. I would be interested if they have prime-like quality and speed.
Oh, and didn't Pentax already make some lens like that? It was F or FA?

I agree about the 18-270. It was a stupid move on their part.

I think the 20-35 or whatever should be a fairly unique lens though. Why release such a strange focal length otherwise?

Bye Bye Pentax.
I have k5, 6 lenses (2 Pentax, 2 Sigma, 2 Tamron) and 2 flashes (Pentax FGZ 560). And I have got hope I can develop with my favorite mark, idea - Pentax> For 3 years I am waiting for FF. It's bacame a synonim of developing and acarring about customer. Now, after news I have heard from competitors I must say "Good Bye". No chance for FF bodies in near futere. Even so -no lenses, high price in the begining. Nikon and Canon present new "cheap" bodies. It is no matter at all but they show they care about their clients. And that they are growing - not waiting for special chances, or any thing else like Pentax.
Bye bye Pentax.
BTW - I love my K-5

I realize it doesn't mesh with the line on the roadmap itself (which appears to be ~12-28mm), but might the DA wide zoom finally be the Pentax version of Tokina's 11-16mm f2.8 AT-X Pro DX that ultra wide angle shooters really should have already switched systems for?

That lens is so well regarded that a company actually sells a modified and reassembled version at a large (over five times) premium for the notoriously picky--not to mention, deep pocketed and to whom size and weight are not an issue--cinematographic crowd: the Duclos 11-16mm.

Do they actually sell? "Current wait time: 5-6 months"

(Warning! Full Frame speculation ahead!:

It's also possible that it will be a port of Tokina's 24x36mm (or, incidentally and unimportantly, "Vista-Vision" in cine terms) version of said lens: the 16-28mm f2.8 AT-X Pro SD FX, the arrival of which on the roadmap [instead of the 11-16mm] would be enough of an indication of a 24x36mm body's imminent arrival that a little bit of fudging of the line on the roadmap would be in order.)

pich,

Far be it from me trying to appeal to your brand loyalties, but I think the assumption is that a Full Frame will be announced by spring if it's coming. After that, it was not one of Ricoh's top priorities.

It's fully possible to read in FF in the road map if you like. A re-make of the 20-35 now in Ltd clothes, a 14-24mm UWA and a 24-70.
That would be a good start, wouldn't it?

Yup. But they'd be missing the 70-200 2.8, and would have to update/redistribute the 35/2 and FA50 (or rebadge the DA55). Then a 135mm.
