I found out that the DA14 had been discontinued around three months ago when I started looking at wide lenses to buy. No-one seemed that bothered to be honest, as few choose the DA 14 over the DA 15 ltd, but it still leaves a gap in the line-up if you need something a bit wider or faster. TBH, I think Pentax should release an updated and improved version, or a ltd even wider than the 15.

DA14 was very interesting lens and different from DA15 in all aspects.
I like f/2.8's photos from DA14.

I have both the DA14 and the DA15 Ltd. They are very different lenses and I liek both. Because of the size difference I usually carry the 15 with me. Hopefully we will see a replacement for the DA14. A new lns roadmap would be nice too. So I can actually start dreaming about buying future Pentax lenses.

Any news or speculation about lenses? Everybody's keen on a new body - I am more than satisfied with my K5 - but I'd love to have new lenses.... a DA*24/1.4, a DA*35/1.4, a DA*12-24 etc...

Me, too ... quite happy with the K-5 and the photo budget is now oriented toward better glass acquisitions, both DA* format and FF format, too ... J

I have great hope in the two lenses of the roadmap, hypotetical DA*16-85/4 and DA100-400/5,6 WR DC HD.

I really wonder what the new "DA Wide Zoom" on the road map will be? A 12-24 remake perhaps, but what if it is a 12-28 - or a 14-28 with FF coverage...?

I bet it's the 11-16/2,8 from Tokina, that is requested for Pentax since it's came for Nikon and Canon. I was expecting it to appear only when the DA14/2,8 would be out of production, and now it is.

Hmn, well that wouldn't be a strong argument for Pentax to be honest (another relabeled lense). They have great engineers, why not utilize them?

It's pretty close to reality, so far they've delivered what's on the road map. It says 2013 or later, though.

Ah, sorry, didn't notice his signature so I thought you were referring to "I have great hope in the two lenses of the roadmap, hypotetical DA*16-85/4 and DA100-400/5,6 WR DC HD."
