That can be said if any of the 15 or so cameras I looked at. The problem those days is that you're paying big bucks for small differences. If anything, these comparative images say "work with what you've got, you can get it done.". You can pay a lot for a little. I happen to be in the market for a camera right now, we need a k-5 or better body. SO I'm looking at a lot of images.... I haven't seen anything compelling enough to make me switch brands. But you have to consider switching brands is a lot of work. If I was currently was the owner of any of the other cameras I looked at, I don't think I'd be switching to a K-5 IIs.
My guess is the biggest reason for switching brands, is you're tired of what you've got. There are actually very few times in life when there are compelling reasons to switch. Most of my issues with my Pentax kit can be fixed by a Sigma 8-16, and Tamron 17-50.
Sometimes there is something you "have to have". But is it need or obsession? I need to buy a camera, my old k20D is killing me in high contrast situations with it's poor low light performance. I wouldn't even know this except the wife i shooting most of the time with a K-5, and we can say without a question of a doubt, she is getting keepers in situations where I get nothing. It may as well be a K5 IIs. With all those Pentax lenses it's a logical choice.
