As long as we're counting lenses that use refraction instead of reflection, we can call a few our own. Yea, the minimum focusing distance might be a bit long...

There's this one too that can be used as a long telephoto

Exactly. But it didn't say which one exactly. Both of us know that the question about the best special kind of Cassegrain may start flame wars in some other forums It says 20" wide so it probably is built like a Celestron C8. Maksutov would be quite expensive at this size already.

Some of us have; I have a 2400mm classical Cassegrain.
Did you do terrestrial photography with it? I posted one photo done at 2000mm f/10 higher up in the thread. Did you have more luck than me in getting sharp images?

Maybe I wasn't looking at it closely enough, but I'd call that shot "sharp enough"!

Let us give a moment's respect to our great grandmothers, even if they're a little slow by today's standards...what a grand ol' gal!

This doesn't really come close to any of these, but you gotta admit it's GORGEOUS (20-blade aperture! Imagine the bokeh...):

EARLY GOERZ 750mm DOPPEL ANASTIGMAT SER III BRASS LENS - eBay (item 280200787650 end time Feb-20-08 16:48:14 PST)

And again, quite a bargain by comparison. Until you add in the fabrication of a k-mount adapter...

This lens is financed with oil money. Which means we all paid for it when we fill up our gas tanks.
