Because I'm in Australia, so the postage itself is $60.

hmmm.. looks like dilemma then indeed..

I'm guessing the majority view is to dismiss the K-30... what I read here in most threads is K-5, K-5II or non-existent FF... looking at the sales chart.. it seems this is not just in my mind. Where is the K-30?

Then again, the price difference wasn't that much. It was only around 30-40 dollars less than I can get that body at amazon (sold by amazon) on most any given day. So maybe the pricing cuts weren't drastic enough?

I gave in at the last minute last night and went for a new camera body as well as the DA*16-50. Recent lens prices had me looking at the non-Pentax lenses up until the BF/ CM pricing came out. I had not originally intended to get a new body, but my K10D isn't the best in lower light, and I am interested in the in-camera compensation for tackling minor lens-specific front/ back focus issues. Adam, thanks for working so hard to get these deals. I'm looking forward to having the new camera for the holidays.

The word I had from the folks at Pentax was that they were very pleasantly surprised at the sales of the K-30. Remember that those of us at PF are not the entire world of buyers. We're a specialized lot. The average K-30 buyer will never, ever, consider a 60-250, or a 50-135.

I am glad to hear that since I went with the 50-135mm. The DA* 55 was a very close second and the 16-50 was a distant 3rd but would have been in the running if it had been at $649 instead of $749. It was interesting that it and the 50-135 were 749 but the 50-135 was $749 shipped but the 16-50 was plus shipping.

I wound up buying a K-01 and the DA 40 from Adorama (not the superthin one, but the 2.8 limited), and a DA 21 from B&H. Spent more than I should have, but I knew I wanted those 2 lenses if I was going to get the K-01, so I went ahead and did it. I hesitated about the 21mm as even with the discount at B&H it was a good chunk of change, but decided eventually I would want it and then I'd kick myself for not getting it on sale. So that about taps me out for camera/lens purchases for a while. But it was a great Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. Thanks Adam for working with Adorama and B&H to get the deals out there for us.

Interesting to see the DA* 16~50/2.8 is so high on the list considering all the bad press it gets. Mine has worked flawlessly for over three years now. I suspect/hope that there are more good than bad copies out there.
