Regarding body size and lens mount.... what is the point of having NEX like body but huge, long lenses? K-01 + pancake size lenses is more ergonomic.

PENTAX can distinguish its FF from the crowd by: WR, ability to use AA batteries like K30, clean high ISO images, continue improvement on low light focus ability, allow lots of user customization (function wise, not just colors) than competitor?

Human translation by me.

(headline)
FULL FRAME closer to reality!?
Also NEW PRODUCT under Ricoh brand will be released

(yellow box)
Pentax ricoh’s 2013 keywords
-Long waited full-frame spec
Full frame is already in R&D. Most likely be SLR type.(as opposed to mirrorless)
-In camera moire removal
K-5IIs made possible high image quality by anti aliasing filter, now moire removal in camera is under R&D.
-New product under RICOH brand
Could be different from RG GR DIGITAL and GXR!?
Camera that match the expectations of Hardcore RICOH fans.

(interesting quotes)
“Developement has already begun. Whether we release or not is up to marketing. Important thing is what can Pentax do in the full-frame market. We have to clearly differentiate from what Nikon, Canon, Sony are doing.”

“Development takes time, it is already in progress including lens.”

“Until last year possibility of mirrorless full size was there. If we consider various things, personally I am thinking with mirror. (not mirrorless)”

“Full frame can benefit more from reduced mirror shock of mirrorless. But I think mirror less is a better fit for medium format.”

Thanks much for posting the translation!

If it's in development, they had better reveal some concrete evidence at CP+ (i.e. a sketch of the prototype or maybe some highlights).

On the contrary. Changing the mount in a high-end body imho would be the biggest mistake Pentax could make. That they even consider(ed) this makes me shiver.

Then why not choose a different system after all (Nikon, Canon, Sony,...)?

!

It (hopefully) will have a PKAF2 mount .
Are you guys reading a different interview than I have? What they are saying is that they will NOT make a mirrorless FF or 645D at the time being. But if they did make a mirrorless FF camera it makes sense to redesign the lens mount. And they also say that it make more sense to make a mirrorless 645 than a mirrorless 35mm camera.

A short registration makes sense, a lot of sense.
Not necessarily, because it is not suitable for wide angle lenses,
which need to be telecentric on digital
to avoid edge problems like color shifts.

It is instructive to look carefully at the discussion of corner performance
in the Photozone reviews of short-register wide-angle lenses,
e.g. Sony E 16mm f/2.8 (Sony NEX) - Review / Lens Test Report
or Fujinon XF 18mm f/2 R (Fuji X-Pro1) - Review / Test Report

New mount if it happens doesn't necessarily mean abandoning K-mount. But whatever, if you prefer some other system, go for it.

I really don't care about FF, to me the exciting part was that they are working on new lenses......

It seems that the lenses are already under development so their decision as to SLR or Mirrorless has already been made. Unless they are developing two separate systems in software and will decide later, depending on market forces.
